Though some hypertext authors will protest I propose - for consideration at least - the idea of establishing a collection of universal icons. This does not mean that every author would have to use exactly and exclusively those icons. But if psychologists could point out the icons that are best suited to indicate certain links why shouldn t we listen to them The traffic signs work all right in most countries.
