Mark Cullen is professor of medicine and public health at Yale University School of Medicine. His research interests are in occupational and environmental medicine, including isocyanate exposure in automobile-shop workers, lung cancer in people exposed to asbestos, and lead toxicity in workers. He has published several textbooks, including Clinical Occupational Medicine and Textbook of Clinical Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Dr. Cullen received his MD from Yale University and did his residency in internal medicine. He is a member of the DuPont Epidemiology Review Board, a member of the MacArthur Foundation Network on Socioeconomic Status and Health, and a corporate medical director for the Aluminum Company of America. Dr. Cullen is a member of the Institute of Medicine and served as a member of its Board on Health Sciences. 

There have been several detailed analyses of the early development of conformational analysis169,170 and a short historical review dedicated to one of the key participants, Sir Derek Barton.171 Charlotte Roberts, a young woman teacher who took a doctoral degree in the subject at Yale and wrote a textbook on stereochemistry in 1896, has been profiled.172 The now outdated screw theory of Moeller features in a paper on stereochemistry and the ether .173... 

He was an engineering department head at Crawford Russel, an adjunct professor at Yale University, and a course director at the Center for Professional Advancement. In 1995 he was invited to teach as a Fulbright Scholar. He was a book reviewer for American Scientist, received the Control Hall of Fame Award in 2001 and the Life Time Achievement Award of ISA in 2005. Today, he is the president of the consulting firm Liptak Associates P.C. His work includes the design and optimization of industrial processes, energy conservation, pollution prevention, and safety-related projects.

Arthur J. Nozik is a senior research fellow with the Basic Science Division of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He received his B.S.Ch. from Cornell University in 1959 and his M.S. in 1962 and his Ph.D. in 1967 in physical chemistry from Yale University. Since receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Nozik has worked at NRL, where he has conducted research in nanoscience, photoelectrochemistry, photocatalysis, and hydrogen energy systems. He has served on numerous scientific review panels and received several awards in solar energy research. He is a senior editor of the Journal of Physical Chemistry, a fellow of the American Physical Society, and a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Materials Research Society, the Society of Photo Optical Instrument Engineers, and the Electrochemical Society.
