Many countries have decided that disclosure of their actual reserves Is a matter of national security and refuse to provide accurate data—or any information at all. It is also difficult to estimate how much oii can be removed from a reservoir, especially ones in undeveloped countries. Reading. To do weii on most piant entry exams, above-average reading skills are needed. Operators must read and interpret operating procedures, training procedures, quality and environmen-tai guideiines, customer requests, and many other technical documents. [Pg.17]

Writing. Process technicians are required to document most of their activities on the Job. These documents inciude iogbook entries, iock-out, tag-out, process samples, training procedures, operationai procedures, permits, shift reiief, work orders, and quality control charts. Listening. Effective iistening skiiis are heipful to process technicians during equipment malfunctions, troubieshooting, shift reiief, training, and team meetings. [Pg.17]

The American Society of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is a technical society devoted to chemical engineering and associated technologies and issues. Many chemical engineers work in the chemical process industry. In 1985, AIChE established the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS). It was an industry response to the Bhopal, India, disaster (Case 24-1). It has become the center of expertise for process safety.
