Merge-in-Transit/Hub consolidation Merge-in-Transit is a practice to combine items from multiple sources into a single customer shipment. This includes items on stock in the distribution center, from which the shipment is sent, items on stock in other distribution centers, items on stock elsewhere (e.g. at a plant or a supplier) as well as make-to-order items. Single-sourcing restrictions can be employed between different echelons of a supply chain. Their objective often is to reduce the complexity of the supply network. For example, in a production-distribution model a restriction might be included to ensure that each customer is only served by one distribution center (e.g., Tsiakis et al. 2001, p. 3590 Geoffrion and Graves 1974, p. 823). [Pg.88]

The major source of raw materials for the preparation of fatty amines is fats and oils such as tallow, and coconut, soya, and palm oils. Ethji Corporation uses petrochemicals as raw materials to prepare alkyldimethyl and dialkjlmethyl tertiary fatty amines, trademarked as ADMA and DAMA products, which can be supplied as single-carbon chain-length cuts or custom blends (13).
