Single source

Two sets of data consisting of results obtained using several samples drawn from a single source. 

Plant proteins from single sources, such as soybean meal, may be abundant in specific amino acids that are deficient in some cereal grains. Thus a combination of soybean meal and com with theh amino acid symbiosis may provide an exceUent amino acid profile for dogs. Plant protein mixtures alone do not meet the amino acid needs for cats, because taurine [107-35-7] is not generaUy present in plant proteins. 

Table 9 is a summary of world toluene supply and demand for 1996. North America, Asia, and Western Europe dominated the world s toluene business ia 1996. The three regions together accounted for over 85% of world production, imports, exports, and actual consumption, respectively. North America led ia production and consumption, while Asia led ia imports and exports. Table 10 presents the world toluene supply and demand. The worldwide demand for toluene increased by 7% from 1993 to 1994 and from 1994 to 1995, consecutively, because of higher hydrodealkylation (HDA) and disproportionation (TDP) operations, plus strong demand for all other derivatives. Over 70% of toluene is derived from a single source, catalytic reformate. 

When materials or labor, or hoth, are obtained from more than a single source, prorate the appropriate factors.

Pumps and their drivers are sometimes obtained from two vendors—the pump manufacturer and the driver manufacturer. There is, how ever, a big advantage in buying from a single source, thereby fixing responsibility with one vendor for matching and coupling the driver and pump. However, the estimating numbers for pump and driver can often be obtained from different vendors more easily than from the pump manufacturer. 

The comparatively new field of nanostructured materials has its own journals (though the first one has now been merged with another, broader journal) and frequent conferences it is a good example of a parepisteme which appears to be successful. The best single source of information about the many aspects of the field is a substantial multiauthor book edited by Edelstein and Cammarata (1996).

Even when the building as a whole is maintained under positive pressure, there is always some location (for example, the outdoor air intake) that is under negative pressure relative to the outdoors. Entry of contaminants may be intermittent, occurring only when the wind blows from the direction of the pollutant source. The interaction between pollutant pathways and intermittent or variable driving forces can lead to a single source causing lAQ complaints in areas of the building that are distant from each other and from the source. 

Wastestreams containing the chemical may have a single source or may be aggregates of many sources. For example, process water from several pieces of equipment at your facility may be combined prior to treatment. Report treatment methods that apply to the aggregate wastestream, as well as treatment methods that apply to individual wastestreams. If your facility treats various wastewater streams containing the chemical in different ways, the different treatment methods must each be listed separately. 

Check whether there is some single source that alone produces most of the loads.

In some cases your choice may be limited to a single source since no other subcontractor may market what you need. On other occasions you may be spoilt for choice. With some proprietary products you are able to select particular options so as to tailor the product or service to your requirements. It remains a proprietary product, as the subcontractor has not changed anything just for you. The majority of products and services you will purchase from subcontractors, however, is likely to be from catalogs. The designer may have already selected the item and quoted the part number in the specification. Quite often you are buying from a distributor rather than the manufacturer and so need to ensure that both the manufacturer and the distributor will meet your requirements.
