Field Studies in Forest Streams. Insecticide treatments The fate and persistence of fenitrothion and aminocarb were studied in 1982 in small headwater trout streams within the Nipisiguit River watershed near Popple Depot, New Brunswick. Three study streams were treated with different insecticide tank mixes, receiving two applications at a 6 to 8 day interval sprayed by Agcat or Agtruck aircraft equipped with Micronair spray emission systems. Each stream later received a point source injection by hand-held sprayer of the same insecticide tank mix which had been previously applied to it from the air. [Pg.256]

Application of microelements spray increased the main constituents, such as cumin aldehyde, p-cymene, a-terpineol, thymol and acoradiene. Ajayakumar et al. (2007) demonstrated temporarily amelioration of phytoplasma symptoms by treatment with tetracycline antibiotic in Portulaca grandiflora plants infected by Candidatus Phytoplasma. During the study a set of infected P. grandiflora plants displaying symptoms were treated with one of two antibiotics. Each set of 20 plants was treated for 6 weeks by foliar spray with tetracycline hydrochloride or penicillin at 250, 500 and 1000 pg/mL concentration at weekly intervals. Plants sprayed with distilled water served as controls. The antibiotic was dissolved in sterile water and applied on the infected plants by hand sprayer in the evening under glasshouse conditions. All infected plants showed signs of recovery from the disease symptoms 4 weeks after treatment with tetracycline hydrochloride... [Pg.147]
