Research analytical

The versatility of chiral stationary phases and its effecitve application in both analytical and large-scale enantioseparation has been discussed in the earlier book A Practical Approach to Chiral Separation by Liquid Chromatography" (Ed. G. Sub-ramanian, VCH 1994). This book aims to bring to the forefront the current development and sucessful application chiral separation techniques, thereby providing an insight to researchers, analytical and industrial chemists, allowing a choice of methodology from the entire spectrum of available techniques.

Recently ECL reactions of Ru(bpy)32+ with other reducing agents have been documented, such as various P-diketone and some methylene compounds that have cyano and carbonyl groups [40], Hence with further research, analytical applications should arise for many classes of compounds other than amines that can act as reductants, or electrochemical precursors of reductants, capable of reacting with Ru(bpy)33+ to produce ECL. 

The textbook on Pharmaceutical Drug Analysis would enormously serve the undergraduates, postgraduates, researchers, analytical chemists working in the Quality Assurance Laboratories, new drug development, production and control, teaching, or regulatory authorities. 

The research was carried out on two main avenues. The first is a theoretical investigation in which analytical models were developed and their characteristics were studied by numerical simulations the second is experimental research in which systems designed and studied in the former part of the program were implemented as biochemical reactors. In the first stage of the research, analytical models were developed for both the basic system and the extended basic system. These models consider that the reactions take place... 

But, as they are always eager to do, research analytical chemists found ways to improve their procedures, and by the early 1970s they could detect DBS residues at about 1 ppb and above. Guess what DBS could be found where none was detected with the earlier, less sensitive method, even though the drug was being administered to cattle at the same (approved) dosages.

For assaying the enantiomeric purity of dilevalol in the DBTA salt, the Schering Research Analytical Department worked out an efficient glc procedure, utilizing methylboronic acid. Although the method did not separate RR and SS enantiomers or RS and SR enantiomers, it served to quickly indicate the efficiency of the resolution process since no racemization of the R-amine moiety was ever found.
