Pre-meetings

A pre-meeting with the grower or cooperator should begin with expressions of gratitude, but the grower/cooperator must also be made aware that their assistance is needed with several key parts of the test procedure. Some of the expectations placed on a grower/cooperator are as follows ... [Pg.210]

The PBAC meets three times per annum, in March, July and November, as the culmination of the 17 week pre-meeting application cycle (see Section 4.8). Positive PBAC recommendations are published on the PBS website approximately 6 weeks after the PBAC meeting. If an application for listing is successful, the PBAC recommends the maximum quantity to be dispensed on each prescription and the number of repeat prescriptions. The PBAC may also recommend prescribing restrictions - an authority required item requires the prescriber to obtain prior approval from the Health Insurance Commission (HIC), by telephone or post, and restricted benefit items may only be prescribed for specified therapeutic uses. [Pg.671]

Provide MHRA with expert advice on pre-meeting scientific advice documentation for within scope compounds. [Pg.85]

At the pre-meeting workshop in Zurich on "The Molecular Structure and Function of Light-harvesting Pigment-Protein Complexes and Photosynthetic Reaction Centres" it was decided to try and standardise the nomenclature for the reaction centres and antenna complexes from the purple photosynthetic bacteria. This was seen to be necessary as there has been some confusion in the literature and because it is now necessary to name their constituent polypeptides. The following scheme was proposed and generally accepted. [Pg.153]

Since the motor s fixed parameters can now be varied to suit a particular load requirement, there is no need to pre-match a motor with the load. Now any motor can be set to achieve the required characteristics to match with the load and its process needs. Full-rated torque (TJ at zero speed (during start) should be able to pick up most of the loads smoothly and softly. Where, however, a higher 7 s, than is necessary, a voltage boost can also be provided during a start to meet this requirement. (See also Section 6.16.1 on soft starting.) The application of phasor (vector) control in the speed control of an a.c. motor is shown in a block diagram in Figure 6.12. [Pg.108]

Proeess integration was developed initially as a means of optimizing the design of ehemieal and petroehemieal proeess plants. Proeess optimization is still only a pre-eonstruetion or pre-produetion exereise. This is surprising beeause many proeess plants are designed for bateh manufaeture of a range of produets, eaeh of whieh will require eontinuously ehanging optimization parameters. Proeess optimization and re-optimization on the fly ean enable eompanies to meet variations in market demand and maximize produetion effieieney and overall profitability. [Pg.653]

Resources are not limited to human resources, as stated in Part 2 Chapter 1. You need to ensure that the design groups are equipped with the necessary design tools, equipment, and facilities with which to execute the tasks. Once you have asked each group to propose how they are to meet the requirements, you then need to ensure that they have the capability of doing so. This is less of a problem in-house as with subcontractors. Due to their remoteness and the keen competition, they may make claims they cannot fulfill. In controlling the design you need to ensure that adequate resources are deployed by the subcontractors and to do this pre-contract surveys and assessments need to be performed. This is implied in clause 4.6. [Pg.241]

Pre-qualification is a process for selecting contractors for known future work. The design will have proceeded to a stage where an outline specification of the essential parameters has been developed. You know roughly what you want but not in detail. Pre-qualification is undertaken to select those subcontractors that can demonstrate they have the capability to meet your specific requirements on quality, quantity, price, and... [Pg.316]

During this stage of procurement a series of meetings may be held depending on the nature of the purchase. A pre-bid meeting may be held on the customer s premises to enable the customer to clarify the requirements with the bidders. A mid-bid meeting or pre-award assessment may be held on the subcontractor s premises at which the customer s Subcontractor Evaluation Team carries out a capability assessment on site. This assessment may cover ... [Pg.318]

Keep in mind that there may well be other communications vehicles in active use within your company. For example, employees at operating facilities may rely on pre-shift meetings to get information summaries some divisions and facilities may have their own newsletters in addition to a companywide publication. [Pg.29]

In this solvent the reaction is catalyzed by small amounts of trimethyl-amine and especially pyridine (cf. 9). The same effect occurs in the reaction of iV -methylaniline with 2-iV -methylanilino-4,6-dichloro-s-triazine. In benzene solution, the amine hydrochloride is so insoluble that the reaction could be followed by recovery. of the salt. However, this precluded study mider Bitter and Zollinger s conditions of catalysis by strong mineral acids in the sense of Banks (acid-base pre-equilibrium in solution). Instead, a new catalytic effect was revealed when the influence of organic acids was tested. This was assumed to depend on the bifunctional character of these catalysts, which act as both a proton donor and an acceptor in the transition state. In striking agreement with this conclusion, a-pyridone is very reactive and o-nitrophenol is not. Furthermore, since neither y-pyridone nor -nitrophenol are active, the structure of the catalyst must meet the conformational requirements for a cyclic transition state. Probably a concerted process involving structure 10 in the rate-determining step... [Pg.300]

In practice, with one minor exception (pure zinc), the commercially pure metals are unsuitable as sacrificial anode materials. This is because they fail to meet one or more of the pre-requisites outlined above. In each generic type of material alloying elements are added to ensure more acceptable properties. [Pg.138]

In a modern industrialised society the analytical chemist has a very important role to play. Thus most manufacturing industries rely upon both qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis to ensure that the raw materials used meet certain specifications, and also to check the quality of the final product. The examination of raw materials is carried out to ensure that there are no unusual substances present which might be deleterious to the manufacturing process or appear as a harmful impurity in the final product. Further, since the value of the raw material may be governed by the amount of the required ingredient which it contains, a quantitative analysis is performed to establish the proportion of the essential component this procedure is often referred to as assaying. The final manufactured product is subject to quality control to ensure that its essential components are present within a pre-determined range of composition, whilst impurities do not exceed certain specified limits. The semiconductor industry is an example of an industry whose very existence is dependent upon very accurate determination of substances present in extremely minute quantities. [Pg.3]
