Paints general industrial

Uses Defoamer for latex and emulsion architectural paints, general industrial, can coatings, emulsion polymers, syn. renderings, food pkg. adhesives/paper, dispersions, coating colors in paper prod, (self-copying paper, folding boxboard)... [Pg.41]

DR pigments are used in paint applications where their properties are required, such as high-temperature paints and coil-coating paint systems based on fluoropoly-mers, silicone-polyester, and plastisol. The NiSbTi and CrSbTi DR pigments are used in trade sale paints including acrylic house paints, general industrial paints in polyester systems, and fleet colors in thermoset acrylic, thermoplastic acrylic, and polyurethane systems. They are also used in polyester-based powder coating applications. [Pg.64]

These paints are resin based and the paints required for sheet-metal surfaces are genertilly alkyd-based resins. For general industrial applications, tiny of the following types of enamel paints may be used,... [Pg.405]

As an example, if the work requires that the lead-based paint is to be disturbed by drilling a hole in a beam (the beam that has been painted with lead-based paint), will workers be exposed to lead in the air Wliat should be done under the standard to be sure that workers are not being overexposed Under the standards 29 CER 1910.1025, Oeeupational Exposure to Lead in General Industry, and 29 CER 1926.62, Oeeupational Exposure to Lead in Construetion, the following are some eri-teria that should be applied to determine who should be enrolled in the lead program. [Pg.69]

P.R.146, which is also used in paints, is primarily applied in emulsion and architectural paints it also lends color to general industrial paints in applications where durability is unimportant. [Pg.301]

Commercially available P.O.46 types are usually quite transparent. They are employed primarily in packaging printing inks, also in offset and metal deco printing. Publication gravure inks, plastics, especially PVC, LDPE, and elastomers, as well as general industrial paints are suitable media for pigment application. P.O.46 is less solvent resistant than P.R.53 1, but it is faster to alkali and acid. In terms of lightfastness, P.O.46 performs poorly 1/3 and 1/25 SD prints equal only step 1 on the Blue Scale. [Pg.323]

P.R.48 3 is also recommended for the coloration of printing inks, especially for packaging purposes, and also for the paint field. It is recommended for use in architectural paints and general industrial finishes. The pigment demonstrates overall fastness properties which parallel those of P.R.48 and 48 2. [Pg.328]

P.R.58 4 is primarily used in general industrial paints, where its full shade and related shades are of interest. This is also true for other manganese pigment lakes. In full shade, P.R.58 4 affords deep carmine shades, but white reductions provide only very dull, bluish shades of red. The pigment is fast to organic solvents and... [Pg.333]

P.Y.120 has less of an impact on the paint industry. In contrast to the similarly colored P.Y.97, P.Y.120 is fast to overcoating. Moreover, it exhibits noticeably higher durability. White reductions, reduced 1 1 to about 1 5, are approximately as durable as P.Y.151 systems. P.Y.120 is recommended for general industrial finishes, including automotive refinishes, and it is also suitable for use in architectural paints. P.Y.120 is completely fast to alkali. [Pg.353]

The paint industry recommends P.R.208 primarily for general industrial finishes, in which it is used to a limited extent. Its lightfastness and weatherfastness do not satisfy the standards of a number of applications. [Pg.366]

The paint industry is interested in individual representatives of this class, such as P.Y.128. These are used to color high grade paints, such as automobile (O.E.M) finishes and automotive refinishes. Other types are used in general industrial paints. As a rule, the fastness of disazo condensation pigments to overcoating is good to excellent in some media. The pigments are also used in architectural paints, sometimes also in emulsion paints. [Pg.374]

Throughout the paint industry, P.R.144 functions as a pigment in general industrial coatings, automotive finishes, and architectural paints. [Pg.382]

TiOz, is added. Systems up to 1/3 SD are heat stable up to 180°C. P.Y.150 is used as a colorant for general industrial and architectural paints wherever the durability requirements are not too high. It exhibits good resistance to organic solvents but is not entirely fast to overcoating. [Pg.398]

Due to its good opacity, the pigment is recommended in general industrial paint applications for lead- and cadmium-free formulations. [Pg.493]

General 40 CFR Part 446 EPA guidelines and standards for paint formulating industry. [Pg.154]

The paint manufacturing industry produces a variety of products. These products are used to protect, preserve and beautify the objects to which they are applied. In general, paints are classified by their proposed function or service applications such as architectural coatings, industrial coatings, special purpose coatings, varnishes, lacquers, etc. The characteristics of most important classes are summarized below. [Pg.238]

Other uses for alkyds are in general industrial coatings such as machinery and metal furniture. Alkyd resin-chlorinated rubber based coatings are used in traffic paints, but use is declining because of VOC concerns. Some alkyds are still used in refinish paints for automobiles. Uralkyds are used as a vehicle for urethane varnishes for the do-it-yourself market. [Pg.3327]
