Mass type

Zannetti et al. (20) did an analysis of visual range in the eastern United States again showing the importance of humidity but also showing the importance of air mass type, which is usually related to its direction of origin. [Pg.148]

There is a wide range of pneumatic, vibratory, belt or en-masse type elevators and conveyors for transfer of coal from storage to boiler. The final scheme depends on site layout constraints and cost. [Pg.188]

Abundance results for additional clusters are currently underway and include analyses of the neutron-capture elements (in order to trace the onset of contributions from low-mass Type II SNe as well as AGB stars). Combined with their ages, the nucleosynthetic histories of the outer halo clusters will better constrain the timescales of formation and construction of the Galaxy. [Pg.102]

The site of the r-process is also not clear, but it seems that the conditions needed to reproduce Solar-System r-process abundances may hold in the hot bubble caused by neutrino winds in the immediate surroundings of a nascent neutron star in the early stages of a supernova explosion (see Fig. 6.10). Circumstantial evidence from Galactic chemical evolution supports an origin in low-mass Type II supernovae, maybe around 10 M (Mathews, Bazan Cowan 1992 Pagel Tautvaisiene 1995). Another possibility is the neutrino-driven wind from a neutron star formed by the accretion-induced collapse of a white dwarf in a binary system (Woosley Baron 1992) leading to a silent supernova (Nomoto 1986). In stars with extreme metal-deficiency, the heavy elements sometimes display an abundance pattern characteristic of the r-process with little or no contribution from the s-process, and the... [Pg.222]

Like all nandrolone esters it was common to stack so-called mass drugs such as testosterone, Anadrol-50, and/or Dianabol with the drug for mass type protocols. During calorie restricted or pre-contest prep periods many reported high quality lean mass tissue resulted when stanozolol, trenbolone, and thyroid hormones were co-administered. [Pg.72]

Some products, like butter and margarine are stabilized by fat crystals. Salad dressings and beverage emulsions are stabilized by other emulsifiers. The stability of non-protein stabilized food emulsions, involving lower molar mass type molecules, tend to be better described by the DLVO theory than are protein-stabilized emulsions. An example of an O/W emulsifier whose emulsions are fairly well described by DLVO theory is sodium stearoyl lactylate [812],... [Pg.312]

The presence of a shallow acceptor level in GaN has been attributed to C substituting on an N site by Fischer et al [7], In luminescence experiments on GaN from high temperature vapour phase epitaxy in a C-rich environment donor-acceptor and conduction-band-to-acceptor transitions have been distinguished in temperature dependent experiments. From the separation of both contributions an optical binding energy of 230 meV close to the value of effective mass type acceptors was obtained. Hole concentrations up to 3 x 1017 cm 3 were achieved by C doping with CCU by Abernathy et al [10], In addition Ogino and Aoki [17] proposed that the frequently observed yellow luminescence band around 550 nm should be related to a deep level of a C-Ga vacancy complex. The identification of this band, however, is still very controversial. [Pg.285]

For C Park and Chadi [4] find a trigonal broken bond type DX centre in GaN, AIN and AlGaN. The same centre was not found to be stable for Si [40,4] and Ge [4] on the cation site. Also Van de Walle finds no DX centre for Si in zincblende AIN. This is in contrast to the wurtzite case where a DX behaviour is expected by Mattila and Nieminen [40] and Park and Chadi [4], but negated by Van de Walle [6], Mg and Be are expected to be effective mass type acceptors in GaN, AIN and AlGaN [4],... [Pg.291]

We use expressions as given in the original references distinguishing shallow and effective mass type states. [Pg.293]

Despite the immense dissemination of the ri-phase hypothesis among the experts, we felt it necessary to check this idea and came to the following statements [12, 15]. There are types of contact masses, which contain rj-CusSi, but are not active (e.g., some non-promoted types or contact masses within the induction period). On the other hand, there are contact mass types, which are active, but do not contain any X-ray detectable amount of ri-CujSi (e.g., some types with copper powder as copper component). Hence, T)-Cu3Si seems to be neither a sufficient nor a necessary precondition of the catalytic activity of contact masses. [Pg.486]

The calculation of p-process yields from a variety of Chandrasekhar mass Type I supernova models of the deflagration or delayed detonation types, as well as of sub-Chandrasekhar He-detonation models. In the latter case, a... [Pg.340]

Ethylene Copolymers. Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers differ according to their vinyl acetate content and molecular mass. With increasing vinyl acetate content, compatibility with paraffin waxes decreases, but that with other binders increases. Low molecular mass types containing 25-40% vinyl acetate are readily or sufficiently soluble in solvents. With a 40% vinyl acetate content, they can be combined with polar resins and nitrocellulose. Terpolymers with free carboxyl groups exhibit improved adhesion. Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers are primarily added to waxes to improve their properties, but are also used to increase flexibility and adhesion in paints, printing inks and adhesives, and for hot melt coatings. Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers have low water vapor and gas permeabilities (barrier effect). [Pg.24]

The detection system of ICP-MS is also of two types Q-mass in Fig. 4a and Sector-Field (SF) types in Fig. 4b, c as shown. In a Q-mass type, the detection limit is lower than ICP-AES, and in the Sector-Field type the detection is the lowest among ICP-AES, Q-mass type ICP-MS, and SF type ICP-MS. However, a SF type ICP-MS is expensive. [Pg.129]

In the case of Q-mass type ICP-MS, as cps is plotted against mass number, an element and a molecule of a same mass number could emerge simultaneously, such as Si(92.2 %), N2, and CO as shown in Table 5. These interfering molecules are contributed by air or acid, which overlap the mass number of the objective element and should be corrected for by various methods. This can be improved with a SF type of mass spectrometer, where high resolution is attained and peaks derived from Si(92.2 %), N2, and CO are separated from each other. [Pg.137]

An example of output of ° Pb observed by a SF type ICP-MS (Element XR, Thermofisher Sci.) is shown in Fig. 5. As you can see, spectrum shape is clearly shown. Spectrum should be a Lorenz curve in Q-mass type, and that should be a trapezoid in SF type ideally. [Pg.137]
