Installation construction site tests

Tests on geomembranes serve various objectives. First performance properties must be determined, then whether the quality standards were adhered to while manufacturing the geomembrane from the selected material and installing it on the construction site must be checked. Part of this test is the identifieation of the materials, i.e. to decide whether or not the agreed upon resins and batches were used. For geotechnical applications, it is not only the performance properties, but the long-term behaviour, whieh is of particular importance. [Pg.35]

OSHA s standard at 1910.303(b)(2), Installation and Use, requires that Listed or labeled equipment shall be Installed and used in accordance with any instructions included In the listing or labeling. Manufacturers and nationally recognized testing laboratories determine the proper uses for power strips. For example, the UL Directory contains instructions that require UL-listed RPTs to be directly connected to a permanently Installed branch circuit receptacle they are not to be series-connected to other RPTs or connected to extension cords. UL also specifies that RPTs are not intended for use at construction sites and similar locations. [Pg.102]

Both temporary and permanent electrical supply installations should be installed in accordance with the latest addition of BS 7671 (lEE Wiring Regulations and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989). Installations, particularly if of a temporary nature, for example in construction works, must be inspected regularly and tested at intervals no greater than those specified by the installation company. It should be noted that if temporary installations are in position for a greater period than 3 months on a construction site then they should be subject to test in line with HSE guidance every 3 months or when they have been altered. [Pg.148]

The 17th edition of the lET Regulations considers construction sites very special locations, devoting the whole of Section 704 to their requirements. A construction site installation should be tested and inspected in accordance with Part 6 of the lET Regulations every three months throughout the construction period. [Pg.244]

The method is used to test the resistance of GTXs to dynamic perforation loads (impacts). The type and severity of the test loads should simulate the loads that could occur on the construction site, eg, during the installation of Armour Stone. To test the resistance to dynamic perforation loads, a rammer with defined drop energy is dropped onto a GTX specimen placed on the test soil and fastened down around its edge. After having proved the principles a dynamic test facility has been constructed. In this facility it is possible to inject 3 tracers in a flownng liquid consisting of air, oil and water. By changing the relative amounts of the different components it is possible to explore the phase diagram and asses the limits for the measurement principle. Experiments have confirmed the accuracy in parameter estimation to be below 10%, which is considered quite satisfactorily for practical applications. Cover designs The capillary barrier test section was installed in November 1999. From the surface downward, it is composed of 6 in. of topsoil, 18 in. of moderately compacted silt, and 24 in. of sandy gravel. The cover was seeded in March 2000 with a mixture of grasses, forbs, and shrubs, including bluegrass, wheatgrass, alfalfa, and prickly rose shrubs. A conventional composite cover test section was also constructed at the site. [Pg.1084]

During the consolidation period, all conventional operations in the unit were placed on CDC to allow reservoir surveillance and accounting allocation. As meter sites were constructed, conventional operations were discontinued and automatic well testing was made available by CPC. Sixteen meter sites, four RTU s, and one I/O device were added to the existing automation system. Approximately 9.S miles (1S.3 km) of buried cable were installed to connect meter sites and RTU s. [Pg.54]

Equipment performance tests completed during the FAT involves testing to demonstrate that the equipment functions and performs as specified. The tests may mimic those planned as part of the OQ to be conducted at the final installation site. These tests are useful both in assuring that the equipment is constructed according to the specifications and also that the performance is adequate. It is important to acknowledge that utility supplies may affect the equipment performance therefore, the acceptance criteria may be different than in the OQ that will be conducted after the equipment is installed. [Pg.334]

Site construction of the project requires organizing the constmction bid packages, selecting contractors, and writing subcontracts. These contracts include a specific scope of work for the various construction and installation tasks and the implementation of appropriate procedures for expediting the project. An equipment installation document is then prepared for the construction contractor (9). This document verifies that equipment is properly connected to the defined utilities (air, electrical, water, sanitary drains, product, cleaning systems) and that the contractor has a planned schedule of events. Arrival of the equipment will initiate the startup and testing phase for the equipment. [Pg.2654]
