In the full quantum mechanical picture, the evolving wavepackets are delocalized functions, representing the probability of finding the nuclei at a particular point in space. This representation is unsuitable for direct dynamics as it is necessary to know the potential surface over a region of space at each point in time. The fluid is formulated from a premium mineral od-base stock that is blended with the required additive to provide antiwear, mst and corrosion resistance, oxidation stabdity, and resistance to bacteria or fungus. The formulated base stock is then emulsified with ca 40% water by volume to the desired viscosity. Unlike od-in-water emulsions the viscosity of this type of fluid is dependent on both the water content, the viscosity of the od, and the type of emulsifier utilized. If the water content of the invert emulsion decreases as a result of evaporation, the viscosity decreases likewise, an increase in water content causes an increase in the apparent viscosity of the invert emulsion at water contents near 50% by volume the fluid may become a viscous gel. A hydrauHc system using a water-in-od emulsion should be kept above the freezing point of water if the water phase does not contain an antifreeze. Proprietary blend formulations based on polysulfone, polyethersulfone, and polyphenylsulfone are sold commercially by Amoco Corporation to meet various end use requirements. The blends based on polysulfone are sold under the MINDEL trademark. A glass fiber-reinforced blend based on PES is offered under the trade name RADEL AG-360. This offers most of the performance characteristics of 30% glass fiber-reinforced polyethersulfone but at a lower cost. Two blend product lines are offered based on PPSF. These are designated as the RADEL R-4000 and R-7000 series of products. The former is a lower cost alternative to RADEL R PPSF homopolymer offering most of the performance attributes unique to PPSF. The R-7000 series of resins have been formulated for use in aircraft interiors for civil air transport. They exhibit a very high degree of resistance to flammabihty and smoke release. [Pg.469]

Table 3 shows that mbber production is the largest market for zinc oxide the downturn in 1980 resulted from a drop in tire production because of the production trend to smaller tires, more importation of tires, and a recession. The drop in paint usage reflects the trend to water-base paints, which originally contained no zinc oxide. However, its growing use in such paints is based upon improved formulations based on zinc oxide. The increased use in agriculture is a result of the realization of the importance of zinc as a trace element. Base-plate wax compositions are generally regarded as trade secrets. A substantial percentage of paraffin is usually present, probably 50—80 wt %. Beeswax [8012-89-3] camauba wax [8015-86-9] ceresin, microcrystalline waxes, Acrawax C (Glyco Products Co. Inc.), mastic gum, rosin [8050-09-7] and synthetic resins may make up the balance of the formulation. Ether carboxylates are used not only in powdered detergents but in liquid laundry detergents for their hard water stability, lime soap dispersibility, and electrolyte stability they improve the suspension stability and rheology of the electrolyte builder [130,131]. Formulations based particularly on lauryl ether carboxylate + 4.5 EO combined with fatty acid salt and other anionic surfactants are described [132], sometimes in combination with quaternary compounds as softeners [133,163]. These include PE and PP any product required to wet the surface of these polymers will benefit from inclusion of fluorosurfactants.
