Proprietary blend

Proprietary blend formulations based on polysulfone, polyethersulfone, and polyphenylsulfone are sold commercially by Amoco Corporation to meet various end use requirements. The blends based on polysulfone are sold under the MINDEL trademark. A glass fiber-reinforced blend based on PES is offered under the trade name RADEL AG-360. This offers most of the performance characteristics of 30% glass fiber-reinforced polyethersulfone but at a lower cost. Two blend product lines are offered based on PPSF. These are designated as the RADEL R-4000 and R-7000 series of products. The former is a lower cost alternative to RADEL R PPSF homopolymer offering most of the performance attributes unique to PPSF. The R-7000 series of resins have been formulated for use in aircraft interiors for civil air transport. They exhibit a very high degree of resistance to flammabihty and smoke release. [Pg.469]

The main producers of organic accelerators for mbber vulcanization are shown in Table 3. This table is not meant to be completely comprehensive, but rather to indicate the principal historical suppHers to the mbber industry. Most producers offer chemical equivalents in the largest-volume products. Within the range of smaHer-volume specialty accelerators, chemical equivalents become less common. Each producer may offer different products to achieve the same purpose of rapid cross-linking, resistance to thermal degradation, or other performance characteristics. Many offer proprietary blends of accelerators. [Pg.223]

There are seven principal classes of accelerators and several miscellaneous products that do not fit into these classes. In addition, many proprietary blends of several accelerators are sold which are designed as cure packages for a specific appHcations. Choosing the best cure system is a responsibiUty of the mbber chemist and requites extensive knowledge of each accelerator type and its appHcabiUty in each elastomer. Table 5 shows a rule of thumb comparison of the scorch/cure rate attributes for the five most widely used classes of accelerators used in the high volume diene-based elastomers. [Pg.237]

Over the last 30 years, ethanol s role as a solvent has increased sharply, while its role as a chemical intermediate has declined. In 1990, 59% of the 890 X 10 L demand was used for solvents and the remaining 41% was used for chemical intermediates (283). In 1960, solvents accounted for only 24% of the demand. The 1990 solvent uses were toiletries and cosmetics, 33% coatings, inks, and proprietary blends, 29% detergents and household cleaners, 14% external pharmaceuticals, 7% insecticides and disinfectants, 7% and miscellaneous, 10%. Ethanol demand for solvent appHcations has been fairly stable in recent years, growing at an average aimual rate of 2%. VOC regulations could impact its solvent use, particularly in areas like California, where ethanol in aerosols like hair spray and deodorants have come under scmtiny. [Pg.414]

Alkaline oxygen scavengers may be used as alternative treatments to some corrosion inhibitors where toxicity restrictions prohibit proprietary blends. [Pg.582]

Corrosion inhibitors are used to reduce the corrosion of surface equipment, surface casing, and the drill string by drilling and well treatment fluids. Many different corrosion inhibitors have been used. These include amine salts such as ammonium sulfite -bisulfite blends, zinc carbonate, zinc chromate, hydrated lime, fatty amine salts of alkylphosphates, cationic polar amines, ethoxylated amines, and tertiary cyclic amines. Commercial products are usually proprietary blends of chemicals. [Pg.12]

Some proprietary blends of magnesium oxide and zinc in the desired proportions for CR compounds are available with the addition of some processing additives to ensure the best dispersion characteristics. [Pg.132]

All the materials in this study are commercially available and were used as received. The compositions of the mixtures are given in Table I. The components can be described as follows Resin is a proprietary blend of acrylated epoxy resins with an number average molecular weight (Mn) of "4800, based on acrylated diglycidyl bisphenol A, DGEBAcr is the diacrylate derivative of diglycidyl bisphenol A, IBOA is isobomyl acrylate, TMPTA is trimethyloltriacrylate and DMPA is 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenyl acetophenone. [Pg.440]

Envirobond is a stabilization technology that may be applied in situ or ex situ to treat solids (soils, sediments, wastes, and sludge) contaminated with heavy metals and radionuclides. Envirobond s proprietary blend of chemical additives combine with heavy metals and radionuclides to form an insoluble, stable mass. The Envirobric volume reduction system compacts the stabilized solids into construction-grade bricks. [Pg.931]

Bio-Raptor technology uses a combination of ex situ microbial and mechanical processes to treat soils and sludges that are contaminated with hydrocarbons. The Bio-Raptor unit shreds and screens the excavated soil to increase its surface area. Then, the unit sprays and inoculates the soil with a proprietary blend of microorganisms. The soil is heaped into biopiles while the microbes degrade the contaminants. Bio-Raptor systems are commercially available and have been used for full-scale site cleanups. [Pg.1085]

Radel A 400 polyarylsulfone resin is made from a proprietary blend of bisphenols (believed to include hydroquinone) and dichlorodiphenyl sulfone. Victrex resin is made by other displacement reactions. [Pg.271]

Added Substances (Policy) FCC specifications are intended for application to individual substances (single entities) and not to proprietary blends or other mixtures. Some specifications, however, allow added substances (i.e., functional secondary ingredients such as anticaking agents, antioxidants, diluents, emulsifiers, and preservatives) intentionally added when necessary to ensure the integrity, stability, utility, or functionality of the primary substance in commercial use. [Pg.2]

The dry beads are then screened (5), yielding as many as four product cuts. External lubricants are added in a proprietary blending operation (6) and the finished product is conveyed to shipping containers. [Pg.168]

Magnesium oxide may be applied as a powder or as a suspension in oil and it has found use in a wide range of coal and oil fired equipment [Locldin et al 1980], The chemical is an alkaline hygroscopic powder and it is usually one of the ingredients of many proprietary blends of combustion additives. It would appear that the origin of the magnesium oxide and the preparation technique influence its performance. Conditions within the combustion space will also affect its activity. The specific surface area of the additive will also represent a factor in its efficiency. [Pg.349]

In healthy volunteers orally administered 625 mg of a tribulus product three times daily for 20 days, an increase in blood levels of testosterone was observed after the first 10 days of treatment, but the levels returned to near baseline at the end of the study (Milasius et al. 2010). The tested product is reported to contain a proprietary blend of tribulus fruit extract and tribulus aerial parts (Optimum Nutrition 2012). [Pg.873]
