L C. Inflammation of the airway is a hallmark of asthma. The use of antiinflammatory drugs, such as inhaled corticosteroids, is critical to the long-term control of asthma. No credible data indicate either that asthma is psychosomatic or that it develops in response to vaccinations against childhood diseases. Asthma is a disease limited to the airways. It does not involve the lung parenchyma. Although upper respiratory tract infections can exacerbate asthma symptoms, asthma is not caused by infection, nor is it communicable.

Many of our chronic diseases (asthma, lung cancer, emphysema, and bronchitis) could result from air pollution or be directly influenced by air pollution. Adverse Effects. Oral administration of oseltamivir can cause gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. The adverse effects of zanamivir can be quite severe in people with bronconstrictive disease (asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), and this drug should probably be avoided in these individuals. 

Currently, 17 mAbs have been approved in the United States (US) for therapeutic use in organ transplant, percutaneous coronary intervention, prophylaxis of respiratory syncytial virus, RA, Crohn s disease, asthma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), acute myeloid leukemia, non-Hodgkin s lymphoma, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer. All approved mAbs are of the IgG class 13 human IgG1 one igG4, and two murine IgG2a. Thirteen are intact mAbs, three are conjugated, and one is a Fab fragment (Tables 12.2 to 12.4).
