Construction contract specifications

Change order- A written document which modifies the plans and specifications and/or the price of the construction Contract. 

These requirements are invoked in design contracts, construction contracts, overhaul contracts, the fleet maintenance manual and spare parts procurement specifications, and so on. 

In other words the 7% gilt, the 6% Bund, and the 4% bonos around which the futures contracts are constructed do not exist. A cash market bond that can be delivered into the contract on maturity has to be identified and converted to match the futures contract specification. In full exchange-based contract specifications, the list of deliverable cash market bonds are well defined and are restrictive. Deliverable bonds in the case of the Bund future will be bonds issued by the Federal Government of Germany and will have a maturity between 8.5 and 10.5 years. Normally, bonds offering early redemption, floating coupons, or some form of convertibility will not be in the list of deliverables.

There will be a number of basic specifications for each discipline, defining the ground rules, and then specifications applicable to specific works. It is important that the extent of applicability of the basic specifications to each construction contract be defined as soon as possible. If only a very small part of a given basic specification is applicable to a given contract, it should be clearly stated. 

The diagram in Figure 2.3 shows the involvement of the Ghent, Consultant and Contractor for dilferent types of contract. In the classic contract. Contractor s involvement starts once the design is completed, specifications are written and tender documents are prepared. Modern design and construction contracts provide for early involvement of the Contractor in order to benefit from the Contractor s specialised knowledge. This early involvement helps avoid unnecessary risks and allows the design of the fill to take into account feasible and economical construction measures. 

A construction contract is issued to a general contractor under an AIA/A201 form of contract. During the course of construction the architect believes that some of the work installed is in non-compliance with the technical specifications of the project. The architect directs the contractor to remove a portion of the work to expose the work in question, to determine if the hidden work was in compliance with the specifications. Quality plans are needed when the work you intend to carry out requires detailed planning beyond that already planned for by the quality system. The system will not specify everything you need to do for every job. It will usually specify only general provisions which apply in the majority of situations. You will need to define the specific documentation to be produced, tests, inspections, and reviews to be performed, and resources to be employed. The contract may specify particular standards or requirements that you must meet and these may require additional provisions to those in the quality system. Although ISO/TS 16949 requires the plan to include customers requirements, the intention is not that these requirements are reproduced if provided in a documented form by the customer, but that a cross reference is made in the plan together with any other relevant specifications referred to in the contract. However, when constructing the plan, it would make sense to refer to specific customer requirements and provide a response that indicates your intentions regarding those requirements. 

Accepted solutions are usually covered by specifications and codes of practice. These documents are important for three reasons they form part of the contract they define methods of design and fabrication proven by experience and they act as a means of communication between the parties involved in design, fabrication, construction and inspection. There is a strong incentive to use standard solutions as unexpected problems or misunderstandings are less likely to occur than if a novel solution is attempted such problems lead to the cost of rectification, but the delay that they cause is usually more importantConsequently project managers are often reluctant to be the first to use a novel solution. 

The three tenders submitted were all of a very high standard and achieved Orica s requirements and specifications. The tender selected was therefore based on lowest net operating cost and was awarded to Kvaerner Chemetics in conjunction with Chlorine Engineers Corporation for electrolyser supply. Kvaerner Chemetics also separately contracted Kvaerner Process Australia to provide local construction management and some local design expertise. 

It is not possible to use normal AO basis sets in relativistic calculations The relativistic contraction of the inner shells makes it necessary to design new basis sets to account for this effect. Specially designed basis sets have therefore been constructed using the DKH Flamiltonian. These basis sets are of the atomic natural orbital (ANO) type and are constructed such that semi-core electrons can also be correlated. They have been given the name ANO-RCC (relativistic with core correlation) and cover all atoms of the Periodic Table.36-38 They have been used in most applications presented in this review. ANO-RCC are all-electron basis sets. Deep core orbitals are described by a minimal basis set and are kept frozen in the wave function calculations. The extra cost compared with using effective core potentials (ECPs) is therefore limited. ECPs, however, have been used in some studies, and more details will be given in connection with the specific application. The unit hours in the estimating procedures, in Chapter 19, are based on so-called Gulf Coast productivity which tends to be conservative since it is mainly based on a direct-hire situation and unionized labor practices. They very seldom find their way into an estimate but are adjusted, up or down, to reflect specific project requirements, contracting strategy and general business conditions as well as local labor availability and atmosphere. It is up to the Project Manager to ascertain the validity of the labor productivity used in developing construction man-hours. Labor productivity is discussed in some detail in Chapter 19. 

Site construction of the project requires organizing the constmction bid packages, selecting contractors, and writing subcontracts. These contracts include a specific scope of work for the various construction and installation tasks and the implementation of appropriate procedures for expediting the project. An equipment installation document is then prepared for the construction contractor (9). This document verifies that equipment is properly connected to the defined utilities (air, electrical, water, sanitary drains, product, cleaning systems) and that the contractor has a planned schedule of events. Arrival of the equipment will initiate the startup and testing phase for the equipment.
