Code Suites

Code suites are integrated collections of personal computer codes that perform different functions but work together through unified controls and data transfer.

The validation of the accuracy of the calculated power limit values resulting from the application of the reference codes suite is to be accomplished through having a third party, LANL, calculate power limits for the same thermal hydraulics boundary conditions. Where products are sold at retail to consumers it is necessary to have a Universal Product Code (UPC) printed on its label. The Universal Product Codes are assigned by the Uniform Code Counsel, 8163 Old Yankee Road, Suite J, Dayton, Ohio 45458. To reduce detailed written descriptions on flowsheets, it is usual practice to develop or adopt a set of s) mbols and codes which suit the purpose. Flowsheet symbol standardization has been developed by various professional and technical organizations for their particular fields. Equipment code designations can be developed to suit the particular process, or as is customary a master coding can be established and followed for all projects. A suggested designation list (not all inclusive for all processes) for the usual process plant equipment is given in Table 1-2 and process functions in Table 1-3.
