Compliance Policy Guide 7132a. 15, Source Code for Process Control Application Programs, April 1987. [Pg.117]

draft of Guidance for the Industry 21 CFR Part 11 Electronic Records Electronic Signatures Validation, August 2001. [Pg.117]

The importance of the source code comes from the necessity to maintain the program and to evaluate scripts, macros, or process specific parameters, and evaluating the impact of any change on the rest of the program. [Pg.118]

Any serious software developer will follow a formal software development methodology that includes the documentation necessary to support the software at each development step. A quality audit of the software developer will determine the adequacy of testing performed and whether the tests plan, procedures, and results are properly documented. The quality audit must include an inspection of the unit testing process. [Pg.118]

Before deciding on an escrow account, the legal department of the pharmaceutical company must clearly communicate to the computer system supplier the source code access requirements expected. Organizations should not require source code availability for the following software operating systems and system software, instmments and controllers, and standard software packages. [Pg.118]

JChemPaint is a chemical structure drawing applet. The noteworthy characteristic of this 2D molecule editor is that it is an open source program [208]. This means that the software and the source code of the program are freely available. Every programmer or interested person can participate and enter individual special requests for further development of the application. [Pg.144]

The scientific area is often characterized by a highly fluctuating and international workforce. This makes it necessary to document the source code and to represent e. g. the class structure in order to introduce new staff to the system easily. Conversely, non-existent documentation may lead to the necessity of reimplementation. [Pg.627]

SHMO is a simple Huckel MO program in FORTRAN that functions much as MOBAS does and is also based on the Dickson program. The SHMO source code must be compiled. Compiled SHMO is in executable code (.exe). Run SHMO from the system level (do not go into BASIC) with the single command... [Pg.223]

Gaussian is designed to execute as a batch job. It can readily be used with common batch-queueing systems. The program may be purchased as source code or executables and comes with hundreds of sample input and output files. These may be employed as examples of how to construct inputs. They may also be employed to verify that a compilation from source code was successful. In our experience, such verification is essential. [Pg.337]

MOPAC runs in batch mode using an ASCII input hie. The input hie format is easy to use. It consists of a molecular structure dehned either with Cartesian coordinates or a Z-matrix and keywords for the type of calculation. The program has a very versatile set of options for including molecular geometry and symmetry constraints. Version 6 and older have limits on the size of molecule that can be computed due to the use of hxed array sizes, which can be changed by recompiling the source code. This input format allows MOPAC to be run in conjunction with a batch job-queueing system. [Pg.342]

In order to balance public domain science with a high quality commercial software product it has been necessary for us to reimplement almost every aspect of computational chemistry embodied in HyperChem. All HyperChem source code is written in C or C-t-t, specified, designed, and implemented by Hyper-Chem s developers. We have stood on the scientific shoulders of giants, but we have not used their FORTRAN code Thus, although we have had access to MOPAC and other public domain codes for testing and other purposes, HyperChem computes MINDO, MNDO, and AMI wave functions, for example, with HyperChem code, not MOPAC code. We have made the effort to implement modern chemical science in a modern software-engineered product. [Pg.158]
