Clean cleaning agents

Method of cleaning, cleaning agents and tools used for cleaning. [Pg.480]

When a block is inside, the entrance panel is closed and the inspection is ready to start. The inside of the stainless steel X-ray tubehead housing is clad in lead with an on/ofT shutter in front of a thin plastic X-ray window. The thin window is to ensure the IP 65 classification. The window is of plastic that is not affected by the cleaning agents. The on/off shutter is interlocked with the entrance and exit panels so X-rays can be kept on at all times without risk of radiation leakage or exposure of the frozen fish blocks prior to the actual inspection. [Pg.591]

All metal parts exposed to the room are made of stainless steel and motors and transmissions are IP 65 to withstand the eflfect of the cleaning agents. The design also takes into account the special considerations necessary for food processing machinery with regards to easy accessibility to all parts and the lack of corners, edges, pockets or other food traps , so that the mechanical system can be easily cleaned. [Pg.592]

The top of the bench should always be kept clean and dry this can easily be done if a wet and a dry rag are kept at hand. Apparatus not immediately required (a) should be kept as far as possible in a cupboard beneath the bench if it must be placed on the bench, it should be arranged in a neat and orderly manner. All apparatus should be washed immediately after use and placed in a position to drain at the first opportunity, the apparatus should be dried. It must be emphasised that as a general rule a deposit of dirt or tar is more easily removed when it is freshly formed a suitable cleaning agent can usually be found while one still remembers the nature of the material or the circumstances attending its formation. It is hardly necessary to add that sohd waste and filter papers must not be thrown into the sink, and that all operations requiring the handhng of unpleasant and noxious materials sliould be carried out in the fume cupboard ( hood ). [Pg.205]

Phosphorus is also important in the production of steels, phosphor bronze, and many other products. Trisodium phosphate is important as a cleaning agent, as a water softener, and for preventing boiler scale and corrosion of pipes and boiler tubes. [Pg.37]

Washing and cleaning agents containing salts of maleic acid—furan copolymers (106) form complexes with alkaline-earth ions. These cleaning compositions do not contain phosphoms or nitrogen and find use in metal, foodstuff, and machine dishwashing products. [Pg.82]

Fluorotitanic acid is used as a metal surface cleaning agent, as a catalyst, and as an aluminum finishing solvent (see Metal surface treatments). Fluorotitanates are used in abrasive grinding wheels and for incorporating titanium into aluminum aHoys (see Abrasives Aluminumand aluminum alloys). [Pg.255]

Cleaning agent and solvent use has decreased 41% from 1986 levels, but in 1990, over 178,000 t of CFC-113 were stiH used in electronics, metal, precision, and dry cleaning (see Solvents, industrial). [Pg.286]

Glycohc acid [79-14-1], HOOCCH2OH, mol wt 76.05, can be obtained by the electrolytic reduction of oxaUc acid or the catalytic reduction of oxaUc acid with hydrogen in the presence of a mthenium catalyst. Because of its acidity it is used as a cleaning agent for metal surface treatments and for boiler cleaning. It also serves as an ingredient in cosmetics (qv). [Pg.463]

Detergents, cleaning agents, emulsifiers, antiscaling agents ... [Pg.539]

Natural-water concentrations of boron are usually well below this value, although higher concentrations can occur as a result of industrial waste effluents or cleaning agents. [Pg.231]

Disodium Tetraborate Pentahydrate, Refined pentahydrate consumed in the Urhted States is used in insulation fiber glass, glass, fertilizers, and herbicides. Smaller amounts are used in antifreeze (see Antifreezes and deicing fluids), ceramic glazes, and cleaning agents. About 40% of the pentahydrate produced in the Urhted States is exported (101). A large-scale apphcation of this chemical is in the preparation of perborate bleaches. [Pg.205]

Approximately 50% of the demand for tetrachloroethylene is in the dry-cleaning industry where about 80% of all dry cleaners use it as their primary cleaning agent. Use as a feedstock for chlorofluorocarbon production accounts for 30% of current demand. Metal cleaning and miscellaneous appHcations represent 12 and 8% of demand, respectively. The miscellaneous appHcations include such varied uses as transformer insulating fluid, chemical maskant formulations, and as a process solvent for desulfurizing coal. [Pg.30]

Upases. The idea of using Upases in the wash process dates back to 1913 when O. Rn hm suggested a dding pancreatin [8049-47-6] to detergent formulations. Many patents have demonstrated that Upases can improve the removal of fatty stains when used in powder and liquid detergents, special presoakers, or other cleaning agents. Intense research activity is also reflected in the literature (43—45). [Pg.295]

Benzyldiethyl[(2,6-xylylcarbamoyl)methyl]ammoniumbenzoate (denatonium benzoate [3734-33-6] Bitrex) is an extremely bitter tasting, nonirritating, and nonmutagenic compound that has been widely used in many household products such as detergents, nail poHsh removers, and cleaning agents, to prevent childhood poisoning. It is also used as an alcohol denaturant. [Pg.396]

Gaseous. True gases such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, ozone, carbon monoxide, etc. vapors such as gasoline, paint solvent, diy cleaning agents, etc. [Pg.2172]

Explosible dusts can also be changed into mixtures which are no longer explosible by the addition of inert dusts (e.g., rock salt, sodium sulrate). In general, inert dust additions of more than 50 wt % are necessary here. It is also possible to replace flammable solvents and cleaning agents by nonflammable halogenated hydrocarbons or water, or flammable pressure transmission fluids by halocarbon oils. [Pg.2323]

Perchloroethylene is a clear, dense, non-flammable volatile chlorinated solvent. It is widely used for dry cleaning small quantities are used in adhesives and cleaning agents. It is miscible with organic solvents but only slightly soluble in water. Relevant physical properties are given in Table 5.50. [Pg.139]

Several materials react with pure oxygen so care in selection of materials in contact with oxygen including cleaning agents is crucial. [Pg.259]

Ammonia is shipped as a liquefied gas under its own vapour pressure of 114 psig (7.9 bar) at 21°C. Uses are to be found in refrigeration, fertilizer production, metal industries, the petroleum, chemical and rubber industries, domestic cleaning agents and water purification. Aqueous solutions of ammonia are common alkaline laboratory reagents ca 0.88 solution is the strongest available. Ammonia gas is expelled on warming. [Pg.276]
