Application Procedure

Each graphic printout is examined by the analyst according to rules defined in the applicable procedures. The human diagnostic always prevails over the computer. 

Variational methods - theoretically the variational approach offers the most powerful procedure for the generation of a computational grid subject to a multiplicity of constraints such as smoothness, uniformity, adaptivity, etc. which cannot be achieved using the simpler algebraic or differential techniques. However, the development of practical variational mesh generation techniques is complicated and a universally applicable procedure is not yet available. 

The AWWA C-203 Standard remains a widely used specification suitable not only for the materials, but also for their associated reinforcing wraps and application procedures. The standard has been regularly updated. Hot-applied asphaltic and coal-tar coatings with their priming systems are now well classified, described and specified in BS 4164 1967 (coal tar) and BS 4147 1967 (asphalt), but no guidance is given in these specifications to application procedures.

Sulphur dyes in the insoluble disulphide form and the Cl Solubilised Sulphur brands are reduced by the dyer as part of the application procedure. The earliest mainframe-based systems were written as monolithic applications manipulating data shared across all the application procedures. The effect of phenol on benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P) carcinogenicity has been examined (Van Duuren and Goldschmidt 1976 Van Duuren et al. 1971, 1973). Dermal application of 3 mg phenol in acetone simultaneously with 5 g B[a]P resulted in significantly fewer tumors than application of B[a]P alone. Application surface areas were not reported and could not be estimated from the description of the application procedure. Mice treated dermally with B[a]P followed by dermal application of brewed tea on alternate days over a period of 55 days developed epithelial cell carcinoma or exhibited various stages of squamous cell tumors (Kaiser 1967). The brewed tea contained an unspecified level of phenol, the presumed cancer promoter in this experiment, as well as cresols and dimethylphenols.

A separate application has to be made to cover the goods in each class. This synthetic methodology opens interesting possibihties for the synthesis of novel a-amino acids that combine two side chains of proteinogenic and non-proteinogenic amino acids— so-called chimeras .
