User test

Acceptance testing—This involves responsible users testing new or changed software to determine if it performs correctly and meets their requirements. 

When a system is first installed or utilized, it should be subject to detailed and thorough user testing, including use in parallel to previous systems for a specified period of time. Only when the existing system and new system have produced consistently matching results or when some other comparison process has been used should the new system be considered acceptable. Even so-called standardized software...

It is recommended that every complete replacement valve, either withdrawn from the stores or returned from a valve specialist, be inspected. New valves coming from an ASME or PED-approved SRV supplier should already be tagged and leaded and will most probably meet all code requirements without requiring further inspection. The only question is how transport could have affected the setting and operation of the valve. Careful verification of how the valve was packed and shipped is important. Therefore many users test all valves, regardless, before putting them on the system.

The inchoate code must pass all its tests before further incremental development can take place. Programmers write their own unit test scripts. Customers write their own user test scripts. 

The scope and depth of User Qualification can be reduced if reliance can be placed on the adequacy of the supplier s Development Testing. Commercially available software that has been successfully tested by its supplier does not require the same level of user testing by the pharmaceutical or healthcare company. Supplier Audit and Predelivery Inspection can be used to provide confidence and evidence in taking this approach.

The PQ stages of the overall qualification of the system can be considered as the acceptance testing (this can also be called end-user testing), imdertaken by the users and based upon the way that the system is used in a particular laboratory. Therefore, a CDS cannot be considered validated simply because another laboratory has validated the same software the operations of two laboratories may differ markedly even within the same organization. The functions to be tested in the PQ must be based on the requirements defined in the URS and the numbering of individual requirements traced back to the system requirements. To enable the system to be developed and user tested simultaneously it is useful to create separate instances of the EDMS, one for the systems integrators to configure (development system) and one for users to try out the functionality during its development (test system). Once the development of the system reaches an implementation stage, a validation EDMS is required. This may be the test EDMS put under strict control to prevent unauthorized changes, or more usefully, a separate validation EDMS to ensure that the validation is carried out under controlled conditions and is not affected by the users testing the system. A corporate structure that copies the venture capital approach seems to be the most effective way to achieve these objectives. The new business - a relatively independent entity, as described above - is controlled by the parent company through staged financing, given when pre-agreed milestones have been reached. These should include not only internal milestones defined, for example, by specific R D achievements, but also externally driven ones reflecting important steps towards market success, based perhaps on initial results of user tests, consumer research results, competitive benchmarks, and so on. Human volunteers are also used in many industries in tests for allergic sensitization by cosmetic substances and formulations. The repeat insult patch test includes an induction phase (repeat applications during 3 weeks) and a 2 week rest period (incubation phase), followed by a challenge to see if sensitization has occurred. A pilot study of 20 human volunteers can be followed by more extensive testing (80-100 subjects). Positive results at more than the 10% level in the human volunteers would suggest a major problem with the formulation. User tests with the sensitized individuals and nonreactive matched control subjects can often determine the importance... 

For public user tests and further familiarization and demonstration purposes 24,000 masks will be used during the period July 1, 1960, to July 1, 1961. The first of these masks will become available for purchase within the next year. Cost to the individual is expected to be between 2 and 3.
