You can see how the (pipe) character is entered as the delimiter in the Options dialog box. If you have more complex requirements for the ASCII text file you want to export, you can invoke External File Interface in the Select Export Type window, write customized DATA step code with FILE and PUT statements, or use some of the ODS tagsets supplied by SAS, found at http //support.sas.com/md/base/topics/odsmarkup/, that have the ability to create numerous types of ASCII text formats. 

Many DCSs allow users to write custom code (similar to BASIC) and attach it to data points, so that the code is executed each time the point is scanned. The use of custom code allows many tasks to be performed that cannot be carried out by standard blocks. 

Type a name for the set (e.g. RNApol ) and click the button Create Set . It is important to realize that at this stage, the set is available for use in the current session, but must be saved to disc for use in subsequent sessions. This is done by selecting Write Custom Set from the Diagram menu, selecting the appropriate submenu, and giving the set a name such as RNApol.set . The visualization of custom sets is described in Subheading 3.3.3.

AH corrosion inhibitors in use as of this writing are oil-soluble surfactants (qv) which consist of a hydrophobic hydrocarbon backbone and a hydrophilic functional group. Oil-soluble surfactant-type additives were first used in 1946 by the Sinclair Oil Co. (38). Most corrosion inhibitors are carboxyhc acids (qv), amines, or amine salts (39), depending on the types of water bottoms encountered in the whole distribution system. The wrong choice of inhibitors can lead to unwanted reactions. Eor instance, use of an acidic corrosion inhibitor when the water bottoms are caustic can result in the formation of insoluble salts that can plug filters in the distribution system or in customers vehicles. Because these additives form a strongly adsorbed impervious film at the metal Hquid interface, low Hquid concentrations are usually adequate. Concentrations typically range up to 5 ppm. In many situations, pipeline companies add their own corrosion inhibitors on top of that added by refiners. 

Sediment. Sediment is most commonly used as an operational check of filter efficiency and leakage, although some customers, especially those who iatend to melt the sugar iato clear solutions, write sediment restrictions. The measurement is normally done by passiag the 50% solution used for the color determination through a half black—half white filter pad and visually counting the white and black specks. 

The required notification must be provided at ieast annually In writing. Acceptable forms of notice are, for example, a letter, product labeling, and product literature distributed to customers. If you are required to prepare and distribute a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the mixture under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard, your section 313 notification may be attached to the MSDS or the MSDS may be modified to include the required information. (A sample letter and recommended text for inclusion in an MSDS appear on pages E-4 and E-5 of this appendix.)... 

The standard allows for undocumented verbal orders but requires that the order requirements are agreed before their acceptance. The third party auditor cannot confirm conformity with this requirement as there will be no objective evidence to substantiate the transaction other than the payment invoice. If the supplier confirms the agreement in writing a written statement of requirement exists. The standard does not stipulate that the agreement has to be documented only that the requirements need to be documented regardless of who produced them. The only evidence that the requirements were adequately defined is therefore the payment from the customer against the supplier s invoice. 

Don t accept changes to requirements from your customer without a change to the contract and always get them in writing. 

You can only handle effectively those customer complaints that you receive and record. Customers may complain about your products and services but not go the extent of writing a formal complaint. Complaints may arise in conversation between the customer and your sales and service staff and this is where you need to instill discipline and ensure the complaints are recorded. Your customer complaints procedure should cover the following aspects to be effective ... 

Expenses associated with the capital cost of equipment. Depreciation will be provided over the useful life of the equipment, varying according to the engineer s estimate. Present-day custom is to write assets down on a straight-line basis, but there are several accepted ways of providing the necessary depletion of the asset value.

For manufacturers that try to cut comers, the writing on the wall has become clearer, and the customer will be thankful. 

The resulting ODM XML file produced by the XML LIBNAME engine is very similar to the one produced by PROC CDISC. However, PROC CDISC allows you to specify and pass more of the metadata information along to the XML file. If you need to create customized XML files for a sponsor that do not match the ODM specification, you can use the SAS XML Mapper and the XML LIBNAME engine to write your own custom XML files.

When a batch of product is labelled and packed, and QC personnel are satisfied that labelling and packing are completed to specification, the QC manager will write and sign a Certificate of Analysis . This details the predefined product specifications and confirms conformance of the actual batch of product in question to these specifications. At this point, the product, along with its Certificate of Analysis, may be shipped to the customer.
