The Scientific Apparatus Makers Association, whose main office is in Chicago, collects data on sales, foreign trade, foreign tariffs, foreign markets, new products, and labor in the fields of scientific instruments, laboratory apparatus, and reagent chemicals. This information is conditionally available to nonmembers. 

Monthly data on newsprint paper, chemicals, and power generation, including production, consumption, foreign trade, foreign tariffs, foreign markets, and new products, processes and equipment, are assembled by the Newsprint Service Bureau, Inc., of New York. In addition, information on production facilities is issued annually. 

Data on soybeans, soybean oil, soybean oil meal, lecithin, and other commodities using soybean products production, sales, foreign trade, foreign markets, new equipment, and production facilities, annually consumption, monthly prices, daily new products as needed.

There were very high U.S. exports in 1991. However, this number reflects material imported iato U.S. foreign trade 2ones and then transhipped to other countries. 

Since HFC-134a likely will be the single largest volume CFG alternative produced, many manufacturers around the world are in the process of or have plans to commercialize it, each under their own trade name. United States and foreign trademarks and manufacturers of CFG alternatives are Hsted in Table 11. 

Although Saran is a generic name for VDC copolymers in the United States, it is a Dow trademark in most foreign countries. Other trade names include Daran (Hampshire Chemical Corporation) and Serfene (Morton Chemical) in the United States, and Haloflex (Zeneca Resins), Diofan (BASE), Ixan (Solvay SA), and Polyidene (Scott-Bader) in Europe. The monomer is of particular economic interest because it is only 27 wt % hydrocarbon. In addition, B. E. Goodrich Chemicals (GEON) supply non-barrier VDC copolymers. 

United States benzene trade data are shown in Table 7. From 1961 to 1970, the United States was a net exporter of benzene. After 1971, following a rapid growth of foreign benzene production, the amount of inexpensive benzene available from overseas sources brought the trade balance back to net imports. The trade balance was expected to fluctuate and a net import balance of 3.3ndash4.3 x 10 t (100—130 million gallons) was anticipated for 1990 (64). 

That imports of coke have increased in the United States is mostly due to the high cost of transportation within the United States and the lower cost of shipping by foreign firms. It is cheaper to extract coal in China, coke it and ship it to California than to buy coke from U.S. producers and transport it within the United States. The trade in coke doesn t hurt the U.S. economy any more than the trade in jet aircrafts to China hurts China. Mutual trade is always beneficial to trading partners. 

Inspection is also an important activity in the regulation of international trade through the certification of vehicles and containers used for transporting hazardous products and for providing foreign purchasers with evidence that manufactured goods comply with specification before they leave the country of origin. Any person importing hazardous waste into the United States from a foreign country is subject to hazardous waste generator standards. RCRA also contains specific requirements for hazardous waste exports. Importers and exporters must also comply with the provisions of international trade treaties, such as the Basel Convention and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Council Decision. 

The AIST was created by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in 1948. Its main activities involve planning industrial S T policies and national R D projects, conducting R D in AIST laboratories, promotion of R D in the private sector, promoting international cooperation and developing national standardization policies. By 1995, AIST had accumulated 10888 patents, from which 1666 were foreign patents. 

We got around this difficulty by proposing that the United States Treasury act as a sort of savings broker for the dollar exchange. We would license the trades if they let us place the dollars in "blocked" accounts in United States banks. Then after the war the accounts would be released. Most of the foreign-currency dealers had agreed to this arrangement. 

Wilhelm Mann is again in charge of pharmaceutical sales at Leverkusen in the British zone. Mann is also a member of the foreign-trade committee of the Federal Association of German Industry.
