In conclusion, the Hofmann-Loffler-Freytag reaction tends to give moderate and sometimes poor yields for the preparation pyrrolidines under the classic conditions. Nonetheless, the utility of this reaction to functionalize molecules via the aminyl radical mechanism plays an unique role in the tool box for the organic chemist, enabling transformations not easily achievable using other means. This behavior is practically important and must be taken into account in the formulation work. 

Hand tools used in the fire and rescue service are often classified by their main function or their size. In general, a large hand tool would not fit in a standard tool box, whereas a small hand tool would. Most fire apparatus carries a supply of standard, everyday small hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and hammers. These tools are used for a variety of purposes. For example, if a fire occurs in an electrical breaker box, firefighters will need wrenches or screwdrivers to disassemble the box to check if the fire is out.

APPI Atmospheric pressure photoionization (APPI) is an ionization source similar to APCI but the corona discharge needle is replaced with an irradiation source (e.g., krypton lamp). In comparison to ESI and APCI, APPI can be used to efficiently ionize broad classes of nonpolar compounds. In the bioanalytical tool box, APPI is an important complement to ESI and APCI (Hanold et al., 2004 Syage et al., 2004 Cai et al., 2005 Hsieh, 2005). 

MCRs have delivered biologically useful ligands from both Diversity [7] and Target [8] oriented approaches with new scaffold syntheses appearing almost on a weekly basis in the primary literature. Combining aspects of carbon and silicon chemistry while at the same time expanding the tool box of the periodic table, recently, a first report on the templated synthesis of mesoporous silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) and silicon carbonitride (SiCN) as analogs of the well-known mesoporous silica materials discussed in many chapters of the book has appeared (Fig. 25.5),58 opening an even wider horizon for the exploration of SiC-related nanomaterials in the fields covered in this book.
