Time schedules

Inspection jobs are often so special regarding to object geometry, available space, or inspection requirements that a standard scanner is not directly useful for the job. This leads to modifications of existing scarmer equipment, or design and manufacture of a dedicated scanner under a tight time schedule. 

Before any physical movement is done in the real inspection environment, the optimal robot configuration and motion are planned and simulated in a virtual iuspection environment in the ROBCAD 3D robot simulation system. If any collisions or near-collisions are occurring or all the calculated inspection points can not be reached the robot configuration and/or robot inspection programs can be adjusted off-line accordingly without the need of the physical robot or inspection environment. This ensures that the time scheduled for the physical inspection is used actively for inspection instead of testing and configuration.

It is essential to plan the time schedule of a measurement project-—the more detailed, the more important it is to carry out the measurements in a specified time. The time schedule is achieved by dividing the whole project into smaller tasks and assessing the time required to carry out these subtasks. A rough division of a mea.surement project could contain the following elements ... 

Electromechanical Controls. Electro-mechanical control devices are typically used for load control (lighting, ventilation, and heating) in buildings with no feedback signal. The most common device is the electromechanical timer, in which a small motor coupled to a gearbox is able to switch electrical contacts according to a predefined time schedule. They are still in use today, applied to loads with simple scheduling requirements.

Near peak manpower requirements tvill be needed from 30 to 50 percent of the total time schedule, unless other factors influence the timing. 

The schedule of projects must often be adjusted to reflect the influence of the key decision maker assigned to the work. If he requires complete detailed figures before reaching any decision, time will necesssuily be consumed. On the other hand if he applies judgment and experience to the basic factors (less details), then the over-all direction of the project can be continually pointed in a profitable direction in the minimum of time. In reality actual multipliers are often applied to the time schedule of a project to reflect the type of decision-maker involved. 

PERT diagrams are most useful if they show the time scheduled for completing an activity on the activity line. Time is recorded in a unit appropriate for the project, with days being most common, and hours, weeks, or even months occasionally used. Some diagrams show two numbers for time estimates - a high estimate and a low estimate. 

Conducting interim progress reviews Interim progress reviews typically occur on a fixed time schedule, such as daily or weekly. They may also occur when some problem in performance is observed or at the completion of a significant step toward the accomplishment of the project.

The procedure for the determination of total secondary alkanesulfonates with TLC and of total monosulfonates specified as homologs and isomers by derivatization GC-MS is shown in Fig. 18.
