The Supplement B (reference) contains a description of the process to render an automatic construction of mathematical models with the application of electronic computer. The research work of the Institute of the applied mathematics of The Academy of Sciences ( Ukraine) was assumed as a basis for the Supplement. The purified commercial di-n-butyl d-tartrate, m.p. 22°, may be used. It may be prepared by using the procedure described under i o-propyl lactate (Section 111,102). Place a mixture of 75 g. of d-tartaric acid, 10 g. of Zeo-Karb 225/H, 110 g. A small (25-kg), portable apheresis system, available in 1993, is designed to meet a wide variety of blood cell separation needs. The role of the apheresis system is to control the behavior, separation, and collection of blood components from the bowl while maintaining maximum donor safety. The system controls the flow rates of blood and components through variable pump speeds. It directs the flow of components out of the bowl, by fully automatic opening and closing of valves based on the output of the system sensors. The system monitors the separation of blood components in the bowl by an optics system that aims at the shoulder of the bowl. A sensor on the effluent line monitors the flow of components out of the bowl. [Pg.523]

In another extractor (Automatic Machinery and Electronics Inc. (AMC)) the individual fmits are cut in half as they pass a stationary knife. The halves are oriented in a vertical plane, picked up by synthetic mbber cups, and positioned across plastic serrated reamers revolving in a synchronized carrier in a vertical plane. As the fmit halves progress around the extractor turntable, the rotating reamers exert increasing pressure and express the juice. The oil and pulp contents in the juice increase with greater reaming pressure. The recoverable oil is removed in a separate step prior to juice extraction. PGR amplification of a DNA sequence is faciHtated by the use of a heat-stable DNA polymerase, Taq polymerase (TM), derived from the thermostable bacterium Thermus aquaticus. The thermostable polymerase allows the repeated steps of strand separation, primer annealing, and DNA synthesis to be carried out ia a single reactioa mixture where the temperature is cycled automatically. Each cycle coasists of a high temperature step to deaature the template strands, a lower temperature annealing of the primer and template, and a higher temperature synthesis step.
