Routing Tooling

In this research, we developed 2.5-D floorplanning, placement, and routing tools, which will be briefly introduced in the remaining sections. In Chapters 5 and 6, the details of our 2.5-D floorplanning and placement tools as well as the corresponding design case studies using the tools will be further covered in depth. [Pg.77]

After selecting valid phases, inputting components, and selecting the property method in Aspen Plus, you need to choose the following route Tools Analysis Property Binary from the Aspen Plus menu bar to go to the dialog box shown in Figure 2.1. In this dialog box, the example system of isopropanol and water is used with the NRTL property method selected. [Pg.17]

This chapter describes the PCB tooling process, as defined in Fig. 20.1, including the transfer of information, design reviews, optimization of materials, definition of BOM and routings, tool creation, and additional processes that are required. [Pg.428]

Major advances in semiconductor technologies have made possible ICs under 0.3 micron technology. As a result of these shrinking geometries, net delay is fast becoming a major component of path delays. Hence, it is essential that synthesis tools take into consideration information provided by tools used downstream in the design flow like floor-planners and place and route tools. This chapter discusses the links from and to DC and backend tools like floorplanners and place and route tools. [Pg.175]

The set joad script specifies the load on every net in the design. Most floorplanning and place and route tools are capable of generating this information. The create wire load command be used with the -hierarchy option to generate wire load models for each sub-block in the design. [Pg.185]

Convert the netlist of CLBs and lOBs to Xilinx primitive cells from the Xilinx primitive library. The Xilinx placement and route tools accept only a gate level description. To convert this netlist of CLBs and lOBs to a netlist of Xilinx... [Pg.204]

Chapter 6 is devoted to Links to Layout. What are the mechanisms available for links from front-end tools like Design Compiler to backend tools such as floor-planning and place and route tools How does one perform in-place optimization This chapter addresses these and similar issues relating to links between Synopsys logic synthesis tools and back-end tools using the Synopsys Floorplan Manager. [Pg.338]

Volume 3, Traffic Management, starts with a smvey of data collection processes and policies and then shows how traffic modeling and simulation may resolve major problems. Traffic management, monitoring and routing tools and experience are reported and the role of traffic itrformation is highlighted. Impact assessments are presented. [Pg.413]

Since the six carbons shown above have 10 additional bonds, the variety of substituents they carry or the structures they can be a part of is quite varied, making the Diels-Alder reaction a powerful synthetic tool in organic chemistry. A moment s reflection will convince us that a molecule like structure [XVI] is monofunctional from the point of view of the Diels-Alder condensation. If the Diels-Alder reaction is to be used for the preparation of polymers, the reactants must be bis-dienes and bis-dienophiles. If the diene, the dienophile, or both are part of a ring system to begin with, a polycyclic product results. One of the first high molecular weight polymers prepared by this synthetic route was the product resulting from the reaction of 2-vinyl butadiene [XIX] and benzoquinone [XX] ... [Pg.337]

The MIC storage tank was contaminated by substantial quantities of water and chloroform—up to a ton of water an VA tons of chloroform— and this led to a complex series of runaway reaction [4]. The precise route by which water entered the tank is unknown several theories have been put forward, and sabotage seems the most likely [2], though whoever deliberately added the water may not have realized how serious the consequences would be. Hazard and operability studies (Section 18.7) are a powerful tool for identifying ways in which contamination and other... [Pg.369]

On setting out on the planned maintenance route, if the percentage of the work to be carried out under the plan is not sufficient (say, 80 per cent), the department will continue to operate as before (i.e. firefighting) with the control of that department being in the hands of others. Any planned maintenance system is a tool. It cannot do the work itself but, employed correctly, the sound management results will prove that the efforts involved in setting up the system were worthwhile. [Pg.792]

ADMET is quite possibly the most flexible transition-metal-catalyzed polymerization route known to date. With the introduction of new, functionality-tolerant robust catalysts, the primary limitation of this chemistry involves the synthesis and cost of the diene monomer that is used. ADMET gives the chemist a powerful tool for the synthesis of polymers not easily accessible via other means, and in this chapter, we designate the key elements of ADMET. We detail the synthetic techniques required to perform this reaction and discuss the wide range of properties observed from the variety of polymers that can be synthesized. For example, branched and functionalized polymers produced by this route provide excellent models (after quantitative hydrogenation) for the study of many large-volume commercial copolymers, and the synthesis of reactive carbosilane polymers provides a flexible route to solvent-resistant elastomers with variable properties. Telechelic oligomers can also be made which offer an excellent means for polymer modification or incorporation into block copolymers. All of these examples illustrate the versatility of ADMET. [Pg.435]

The discovery that Lewis acids can promote Diels-Alder reactions has become a powerful tool in synthetic organic chemistry. Yates and Eaton [4] first reported the remarkable acceleration of the reactions of anthracene with maleic anhydride, 1,4-benzoquinone and dimethyl fumarate catalyzed by aluminum chloride. The presence of the Lewis-acid catalyst allows the cycloadditions to be carried out under mild conditions, reactions with low reactive dienes and dienophiles are made possible, and the stereoselectivity, regioselectivity and site selectivity of the cycloaddition reaction can be modified [5]. Consequently, increasing attention has been given to these catalysts in order to develop new regio- and stereoselective synthetic routes based on the Diels-Alder reaction. [Pg.99]
