Property Inspector

For the first time in my experience, the issue of intellectual property had become a bone of contention, as had the security of the records themselves. Fred discovered that these two young researchers had commandeered 150 volunteer charts. He recovered them by raiding their offices, and drew up a memo setting limits on such activity. Even so, when the Inspector General later reviewed the program, some 300 charts could not be located. [Pg.185]

The Agency evidently did not know that DNsoPMT ts 3. high explosive, just slightly less powerful than TNT. Fortunately no accident occurred and all 50 tons of material Were recalled after some Inspectors of the US State Department learned about the dangerous properties of DNsoFMT (Kef 9)... [Pg.734]

The ASME code consists of establishing the rules of safety governing the (i) design (ii) fabrication (iii) inspection during construction (materials, design, fabrication, examination, inspection, testing, certification and pressure relief) of boilers and pressure vessels. The rules were formulated to meet the needs and objectives of users, manufacturers and inspectors of pressure vessels. The formulated rules afford reasonable protection of life and property and provide a margin for deterioration in service in the useful lifetime. Any pressure boiler that is fabricated must meet the specifications and, after inspection, it is certified and provided with a stamp of approval. [Pg.178]

The inspector then places it on a pin-type conveyor which makes it possible for the air to circulate freely around each shell, thus as-.suring that the physical properties of each forging are the same. Each conveyor hook has two pairs of pins, one above the other, holding four forgings in all. By the lime the shell reaches the final inspection room, it is completely cooled. Here the shells are given a 100 per cent inspection before they are pas.sed on to the shot blast machine which cleans the inside cavity at the rate of two every 30. sec. After the cleaning operation they are oiled inside with a pre.s-.sure gun sprayer to protect the interior from rust while in transit to the machining contractor. [Pg.27]

However, the whole of this training and experience should not simply cover the Quality Assurance work only, but the Quality Assurance personnel should also be, or become, familiar with the test procedures, standards and systems operated at the test facility. This familiarity with test systems and test procedures should be extensive enough to allow the individual inspector to choose the most suitable approach to the inspection of the study part he is monitoring, to ask the most pertinent questions, and to judge the importance of any deviations from study plan or from SQPs. Qn the other hand, it is certainly not necessary that Quality Assurance personnel should possess highly expert knowledge in the conduct of the tests and in the properties of the test systems they have to monitor, since the Quality Assurance inspector is expected neither to perform a scientific evaluation of a study nor to judge the validity of the scientific procedures that are used. [Pg.133]

Inspections for compliance with GLP Principles may take place in any test facility generating health or environmental safety data for regulatory purposes. Inspectors may be required to audit data relating to the physical, chemical, toxicological or ecotoxicological properties of a substance or preparation. In some cases. Inspectors may need assistance from experts in particular disciplines. [Pg.399]

The Goodmans first shock was learning Natalie had an elevated level of lead in her blood. Their second shock followed shortly thereafter when a City Board of Health inspector showed up with no prior notice at their home, pointed a strange-looking machine all over the walls, doors, and windows of their brownstone, and cited them for 44 violations of the lead poisoning law, with a warning that these hazards must be remedied within FIVE days. If not, the City would send in their own contractors and, if the Goodmans couldn t pay the bill, a lien would be put on their property. [Pg.82]

One of her tenants, who was having a hard time keeping up with rent payments, asked the local health inspector to come out to the property. He had heard that when health code violations are found, a tenant cannot be evicted for a number of months, even if the rent is not paid. No violations of the health code were found, but the inspector offered to do an inspection for lead paint. The tenant agreed. Lead paint was found, and Maggie was informed she had to eliminate the lead paint from the unit. [Pg.110]

From these recommendations, the Arson Early Warning System was formed. This system is nsed to organize and develop information needed to identify specific properties that need to be included in the incendiary fire prevention strategies and programs (Icove, 2002). Essentially, this program was formed in cooperation with the inspection programs. Inspectors would attempt to predict which structures were on the brink of losing their value. These inspectors would then focus more attention and perform more inspections of these properties. [Pg.145]
