Processability testing

Standardization and Testing". RequHemeats are geaerally specified within Hceases Hi the United States, and include a variety of Hi-process tests to assess purity, safety, and potency of the iadividual components and potency and safety of the final product. Potency is standardized by determining the size of the conjugate and the quantitative amount of saccharide that is bound to the carrier protein. General safety and immunogenicity is assessed Hi animals. [Pg.357]

Pilot plants utilizing a single-full-sized reactor tube from a commercial plant are generally used to assess the quaUty and performance of individual catalyst lots and to perform plant or customer ordered process tests. A weU-designed pilot unit is capable of simulating the performance of a commercial plant with great accuracy. [Pg.202]

This is an alternative to the ageing test and is applicable for shunt capacitors of 1000 V and above. It is an in-house process test and is carried out on the capacitor elements before they are assembled into a capacitor unit to ascertain their dielectric stability against repeated overvoltages. For the test procedure refer to lEC 60871-2. [Pg.841]

An additional series of process tests and plots can be helpful. The Delta-P over each section should be monitored and the reflux increased/decreased at constant bottom temperature. The composition of the heavy key in the overhead should be monitored. Plots should then be made of both Delta-P and of composition vs. reflux. Additional information concerning these tests can be found in Norman Lieberman s book entitled Troubleshooting Process Operations. ... [Pg.298]

In combustion processes tests, it has been noticed that Pd-catalyzed SnO, sensors follow the variations in the concentration of CO in the combustion gases, even in the case of solid fuels. [Pg.1310]

Phosphoric acid The austenitic grades are resistant to all strengths up to 80°C but are limited to 30-40% concentration at boiling point, the molybdenum-bearing types having the best corrosion resistance. Some test data for various types is shown in Fig. 3.28. Industrially, this acid is often encountered in an impure state with appreciable amounts of sulphuric and hydrofluoric acid present so that process testing is likely to be particularly necessary. The super-austenitic steels have enhanced resistance to phosphoric acid solutions. [Pg.549]

Montanari el al., for example, studied a Co—H-MFI sample through FT-IR spectroscopy of in situ adsorption and coadsorption of probe molecules [o-toluonitrile (oTN), CO and NO] and CH4-SCR process tests under IR operando conditions. The oTN adsorption and the oTN and NO coadsorption showed that both Co2+ and Co3+ species are present on the catalyst surface. Co3+ species are located inside the zeolitic channels while Co2+ ions are distributed both at the external and at the internal surfaces. The operando study showed the activity of Co3+ sites in the reaction. The existence of three parallel reactions, CH4-SCR, CH4 total oxidation and NO to NOz oxidation, was also confirmed. Isocyanate species and nitrate-like species appear to be intermediates of CH4-SCR and NO oxidation, respectively. A mechanism for CH4-SCR has been proposed. On the contrary, Co2+ substitutional sites, very evident and predominant in the catalyst, which are very hardly reducible, seemed not to play a key role in the SCR process [173],... [Pg.128]

Commercial coated samples were obtained. Coating thickness was nominal 2 mils for organic-metal filled coatings (approximately 50% metal filler). Zinc metal coatings were zinc arc spray and were thicker, 5 mils, but normal for that process. Test results for each fire parameter are given as follows ... [Pg.289]

In pharmaceuticals, NIR is used for, of course, moisture, polymorphic (drug) forms, percent crystallinity, isomer purity, tablet/capsule assay, coating levels, evaluation of dissolution times, and numerous process tests. It is a rapid means for the Food and Drug Administration to check for counterfeit drugs, and for the Drug Enforcement Agency to ascertain what type of materials are impounded in drug raids. ... [Pg.166]

In order to determine the efficiency of the surface production process, tests were carried out with sodium chloride and it was found that 90 J was required to produce 1 m2 of new surface. As the theoretical value of the surface energy of sodium chloride is only 0.08 J/m2, the efficiency of the process is about 0.1 per cent. Zeleny and Piret(18) have reported calorimetric studies on the crushing of glass and quartz. It was found that a fairly constant energy was required of 77 J/m2 of new surface created, compared with a surface-energy value of less than 5 J/m2. In some cases over 50 per cent of the energy supplied was used to produce plastic deformation of the steel crusher surfaces. [Pg.103]
