When the wall of a cylindrical pressure vessel is subjected to a temperature gradient, every part expands depending on the coefficient of linear thermal expansion of the steel. The risk assessment requires information about potential risks, effects, and impacts on current processes and environments. Process risk assessment is mainly determined by the probability of process interruption, system down times, and restart of a system.
