Physical Storage

With the release of SAS 9, it is getting to the point where having a comprehensive set of hardcopy SAS manuals is difficult to afford in both monetary cost and physical storage space. The cost and size of SAS manuals have grown substantially. Also, each interim release of SAS now comes with a new set of documentation, so hardcopy versions of the manuals can rapidly get out of date. The SAS 9 manuals are provided by SAS Publishing on a print on demand basis, which means that SAS produces hardcopy SAS manuals as they are ordered, but once they have been ordered they are non-returnable and non-refundable. The good news is that the SAS manuals for SAS 9.0 and later versions can be found in HTML and PDF format online at... [Pg.298]

Additionally, the physical maximum inventory determined by physical storage capacity should be applied in exceptional months specifically for the first planning month if actual inventories to be considered in the plan are higher than the maximum bandwidth inventory. Minimum and maximum inventory boundaries are regular components in standard supply chain planning models (see for example Chen et al. 2003, p. 1881). [Pg.117]

Liquid level is one of several measurements needed to establish the contents of a cryogenic container. Other measurements may include volume as a function of depth, density as a function of physical storage conditions, and sometimes discerning useful contents from total contents. Of these measurements, the liquid-level determination is presently the most advanced and can be made with an accuracy and precision comparable to that of thermometry and often with greater simplicity. [Pg.191]

The primary categories of hydrogen storage are physical and chemical. Physical storage includes liquefied hydrogen and compressed hydrogen gas. Chemical storage includes the formation of metal hydrides. These are seen to be the most likely near-term options. [Pg.106]

Usually the temperature range of 50-60 C is good. Drying is critical since final WDG moisture impacts the physical storage stability in addition to the chemical shelf life of the product. [Pg.190]

A document index should be maintained to log documentation by reference/title, version, and physical storage location. As the status of a document changes, the document index will need to be updated. [Pg.78]

Even though formaldehyde release from UF-bonded wood products has been studied for more than 25 years, only very little Is known about how formaldehyde Is stored In UF-bonded wood products. In fact. It is not even known whether storage of formaldehyde is a physical or a chemical process. Formaldehyde is gaseous at room temperature, but it can polymerize forming para-formaldehyde, and it readily dissolves In water forming methyIenegIycoI (2). The most likely physical storage process is absorption by moisture. Water is present in wood in two forms free water In the cell cavities In form of liquid... [Pg.67]

As another example, the storage area offers the basic models for file storage inside a document management system, relating file-based documents with their conceptual representation inside the Process Data Warehouse. This allows accessing the documents contents and their physical storage places, including the visualization or modification inside appropriate tools. [Pg.388]

Quarantine The situation of any raw materials, packaging materials, or products which may not be used before authorization has been given. Quarantine may be physical (storage in a fixed place) or administrative. In the case of administrative quarantine use may be made of automatic systems (computerized, electromagnetic) for the release of the product. [Pg.399]

The physical storage facilities for electronic information media do not constitute an immediate threat to continuing operability. However, it would be prudent for CMA to conduct periodic review of and continued maintenance of storage facilities to ensure that they remain effective. [Pg.54]

Maintenance repair operations (MRO) parts, materials, and supplies are the key material resources necessary for the execution of the maintenance process. Often the physical storage, control, and procurement of MRO items is never recognized for its value to the total operation. The effective operation of a maintenance storeroom is a cornerstone for maintenance excellence, but it is often a neglected area for management attention. [Pg.1615]

One approach to creating a consistent data model is to look for a standard. The best standard available currently is the relational data model. This standard does not specify the actual physical storage of data. Therefore, if a collection, or database, of for example, chemical objects, or documents, can be viewed as a collection of relations, then it becomes possible to design and build systems that view disparate data in similar ways. Recent results obtained by adopting a consistent, logical view of chemical and relational databases are described in a later section. A recent report discusses both the storage of chemical structures in a relational system, and the methodology for and performance of various types of searches carried out over these structures. ... [Pg.245]
