A sensitive and rapid chromatographic procedure using a selective analytical detection method (electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry in SIM mode) in combination with a simple and efficient sample preparation step was presented for the determination of zaleplon in human plasma. The separation of the analyte, IS, and possible endogenous compounds are accomplished on a Phenomenex Lima 5-/rm C8(2) column (250 mm x 4.6 mm i.d.) with methanol-water (75 25, v/v) as the mobile phase. To optimize the mass detection of zaleplon, several parameters such as ionization mode, fragmentor voltage, m/z ratios of ions monitored, type of organic modifier, and eluent additive in the mobile phase are discussed. Each analysis takes less than 6 min. The calibration curve of zaleplon in the range of 0.1-60.0 ng/ml in plasma is linear with a correlation coefficient of >0.9992, and the detection limit (S/N = 3) is 0.1 ng/ml. The within- and between-day variations (RSD) in the zaleplon plasma analysis are less than 2.4% (n = 15) and 4.7% (n = 15), respectively. The application of this method is demonstrated for the analysis of zeleplon plasma samples [14]. [Pg.363]

General information on monitor types and configurations is given in CESSAR-DC Section 11.5.1.2.1. Typically a monitor consists of components such as a microprocessor, one or more detectors, a shielded detection chamber, a sample pump, flow instrumentation, and associated tubing and cabling. Sufficient shielding is provided to ensure that the required sensitivity is achieved at... [Pg.374]

The combination of an ion chromatographic separation with a radioactivity monitor (type LB505, Berthold, Wildbad, Germany) for the analysis of radiostrontium was described by Stadlbauer et al. [86]. The objective of their study was the development of a method for the simple separation of the fission products Sr-90 and Sr-89 from other radionuclides such as barium (Ba-133) which. [Pg.521]

In the Airbus architecture, only the acquisition of aircraft movement function is of the voter type the other three are of the doubled/monitored type (command and monitoring). The B777/B787 mainly use the voter. The key of the debate is the design of the control surface. Voting with actuators means having them continuously active if one of the actuators inadvertently moves, it is countered by the other two. Important mechanical efforts are therefore made on the control surface. On an... [Pg.212]

The principle of operation of the hydraulic reciprocating pump is similar to the beam pump, with a piston-like sub-surface pump action. The energy to drive the pump, however, is delivered through a hydraulic medium, the power fluid, commonly oil or water. The power fluid drives a downhole hydraulic motor which in turn drives the pump. A separate surface pump delivers the hydraulic power. The power fluid system can be of the closed loop or of the open type. In the latter case, the power fluids are mixed with the produced fluid stream. The performance of the hydraulic pump is primarily monitored by measuring the discharge pressures of both surface and sub-surface pumps. [Pg.231]

As subsea production systems are remote from the host production facility there must be some type of system in place which allows personnel on the host facility to control and monitor the operation of the unmanned subsea system. [Pg.270]

A study is at present being carried out to check and validate the feasability of acoustic emission monitoring of the pneumatic testing of tanks. This study is being carried out in the context of the CIAPES program. This article gives only a brief summary of the results obtained on various materials, and different types of vessels, under different operating conditions. [Pg.54]

Two types of materials are studied in the CIAPES programme ferritic steel and stainless steel. A database for vessels monitored by acoustic emission has been builded to collect the results of all the tests carried out in laboratory and in situ. [Pg.55]

Laborelec s future realisations are vibration analysis, control of inspection robots, and all types of system monitoring. LabVIEW will be used as common tool for developers for the coming years. The synergy effect of a common language for everything concerning acquisition, analysis and processing of data will be beneficial for the whole company. [Pg.1009]

Abstract. This paper presents results from quantum molecular dynamics Simula tions applied to catalytic reactions, focusing on ethylene polymerization by metallocene catalysts. The entire reaction path could be monitored, showing the full molecular dynamics of the reaction. Detailed information on, e.g., the importance of the so-called agostic interaction could be obtained. Also presented are results of static simulations of the Car-Parrinello type, applied to orthorhombic crystalline polyethylene. These simulations for the first time led to a first principles value for the ultimate Young s modulus of a synthetic polymer with demonstrated basis set convergence, taking into account the full three-dimensional structure of the crystal. [Pg.433]

Two different types of dynamic test have been devised to exploit this possibility. The first and more easily interpretable, used by Gibilaro et al [62] and by Dogu and Smith [63], employs a cell geometrically similar to the Wicke-Kallenbach apparatus, with a flow of carrier gas past each face of the porous septum. A sharp pulse of tracer is injected into the carrier stream on one side, and the response of the gas stream composition on the other side is then monitored as a function of time. Interpretation is based on the first two moments of the measured response curve, and Gibilaro et al refer explicitly to a model of the medium with a blmodal pore... [Pg.105]
