It is known and widely applied a method, when the spatial model of object is formed by a set of plane sections or tomographic slices. An experienced sample, created in Californian University and reffered to as Dynamic Cardiac 3D densitometer, is constructed by this principle [2]. The serial model of this tomograph of the company Imatron Associates appeared on the market in the end 1983r.[13]. On this basis a line of computer tomographs has been created. 

Electrolytic silver recovery is a common technique to desilver fixing solutions. It has been known for decades, although it never really reached a point where it was massively introduced into the industrial radiology market. In the past, the main reasons to implement silver recovery were twofold. 

The depressed prices of most metals in world markets in the 1980s and early 1990s have slowed the development of new metal extraction processes, although the search for improved extractants continues. There is a growing interest in the use of extraction for recovery of metals from effluent streams, for example the wastes from pickling plants and electroplating (qv) plants (276). Recovery of metals from Hquid effluent has been reviewed (277), and an AM-MAR concept for metal waste recovery has recentiy been reported (278). Possible appHcations exist in this area for Hquid membrane extraction (88) as weU as conventional extraction. Other schemes proposed for effluent treatment are a wetted fiber extraction process (279) and the use of two-phase aqueous extraction (280).

The eady juice industry was largely a salvage operation. The principal source of raw material was misshapen, poorly colored, or skin blemished fmit unsuitable for the fresh, canned, or frozen fmit market. In the 1990s, raw materials are selected for suitabiUty for juice production, except for apple juice production which still uses much cull fmit (4). 

Consumption in the fmit drink/nectar market varies widely from country to country. In the United States juice consumption is 73% vs only 27% for drink/nectar consumption. In Japan the reverse is tme with drink/nectar accounting for 73% of the market. In the United Kingdom, 80% of the market is derived from fmit juice, but in Europe as a whole, drink/nectar outsells pure juice by 30% (12). 

The cetane number of a fuel depends on its hydrocarbon composition. In general, normal paraffins have high cetane numbers, isoparaffins and aromatics have low cetane numbers, and olefins and cycloparaffins fall somewhere in between. Diesel fuels marketed in the United States have cetane numbers ranging between 35 and 65. Most manufacturers specify a minimum cetane number of 40—45.

The earliest oil marketed in the United States came from springs at Oil Creek, Pennsylvania, and near Cuba, New York. It was used for medicinal purposes and was an article of trade among the Seneca Indians. At that time, the term Seneca Oil appfied to all oil obtained from the earth. The first oil well was drilled in 1859 in Pennsylvania to a depth of 21.2 m for Seneca Oil Co. It produced 280 t (2000 bbl) in that year. This was the beginning of cmde oil production.

Of the binary peroxides made from hydrogen peroxide, calcium peroxide is the most important. World production is about 2000 t/yr, which is dominated by the dough-conditioning market in the United States. The markets for the other binary peroxides, such as those of zinc, magnesium, and strontium, total only a few hundred metric tons. Sodium peroxide and potassium superoxide are made from the alkaU metals and thek total markets are in the hundreds of tons. 

Elemental phosphoms is produced and marketed in the a-form of white or yellow phosphoms, the tetrahedral ahotrope. A small amount of ted amorphous phosphoms, P, is produced by conversion from white phosphoms. White phosphoms as the element is characterized by its combustion in air to form phosphoms pentoxide. Consequentiy, white phosphoms is generally stored and handled under water. Elemental white phosphoms is also highly toxic, and suitable precautions ate requited by those who manufacture or handle it. The black phosphoms modification prepared under high pressure does not have commercial importance. 

With few exceptions, thermoplastics are marketed in the form of pellets. They are shipped in containers of various sizes, from 25-kg bags to railroad hopper cars. Resins are conveyed to silos for storage and from there to the processing equipment. Colored resins are available, but frequentiy it is more convenient and economical to buy uncolored resins and blend them with color concentrates. Using concentrates avoids handling dusty pigments and ensures uniform color distribution. 

Bayer marketed PPS compounds in the United States under the trade name Tedur, but the company has exited the PPS business. PPS is also marketed in the United States by GE Plastics, whose source of neat resin is Tosoh Corporation of Japan. GE Plastics markets PPS under the trade name Supec PPS. Patent activity by Tennessee Eastman describes an alternative process for the production of poly(phenylene sulfide/disulfide), although samples of such product have not appeared as of early 1996. Both Phillips and Hoechst Celanese have aimounced plans to debotdeneck their existing U.S. faciUties in order to meet anticipated market growth. 

Isoquinolines are used in catalytic (191), photographic (192), and dye appHcations (193). A great many alkaloids and synthetic medicinal compounds are isoquinoline derivatives. The principal dmgs containing this stmcture marketed in the United States are Hsted in Table 4.
