Magnet/magnetism magnetic interactions

To detennine the critical exponents y and S, a magnetic interaction temi -hm is added to the free energy and... [Pg.537]

Because J arises from the magnetic interactions of nuclei, the simplest factor affecting it is the product yjY of the two nuclear magnetogyric ratios involved. For example, in FI F is 82 FIz, i.e. x yo/yf - This totally predictable factor is sometimes discounted by quoting the reduced coupling constant =... [Pg.1452]

The practical goal of EPR is to measure a stationary or time-dependent EPR signal of the species under scrutiny and subsequently to detemiine magnetic interactions that govern the shape and dynamics of the EPR response of the spin system. The infomiation obtained from a thorough analysis of the EPR signal, however, may comprise not only the parameters enlisted in the previous chapter but also a wide range of other physical parameters, for example reaction rates or orientation order parameters. [Pg.1563]

M continually decreases under the influence of spin-spin relaxation which destroys the initial phase coherence of the spin motion within they z-plane. In solid-state TREPR, where large inliomogeneous EPR linewidths due to anisotropic magnetic interactions persist, the long-time behaviour of the spectrometer output, S(t), is given by... [Pg.1566]

Chemical Inhomogenities or Compositional Separation. Compositional separation at the grain boundaries influences the magnetic interactions of the individual grains. Deposition parameters such as temperature, substrate material, and the use of a seed layer play an important role. [Pg.181]

The magnetic interaction of neutrons with protons or deuterons of the CH3 (CD3) group leads to the appearance of peaks of quasielastic and inelastic scattering, corresponding to AE and EaEb... [Pg.115]

Fig. 5.13. The stress-volume relations of fee and bee alloys show the strong compressibility anomaly in the fee phase below 25 kbar (2.5 GPa) associated with the magnetic interactions. Above 25 kbar, the fee alloy has a normal value for compressibility (after Graham et al. [67G01]). Fig. 5.13. The stress-volume relations of fee and bee alloys show the strong compressibility anomaly in the fee phase below 25 kbar (2.5 GPa) associated with the magnetic interactions. Above 25 kbar, the fee alloy has a normal value for compressibility (after Graham et al. [67G01]).
The work on iron-nickel alloys has described shock-compression measurements of the compressibility of fee 28.5-at. % Ni Fe that show a well defined, pressure-induced, second-order ferromagnetic to paramagnetic transition. From these measurements, a complete description is obtained of the thermodynamic variables that change at the transition. The results provide a more complete description of the thermodynamic effects of the change in the magnetic interactions with pressure than has been previously available. The work demonstrates how shock compression can be used as an explicit, quantitative tool for the study of pressure sensitive magnetic interactions. [Pg.122]

Note that the subscript on the a matrices refers to the particle, and a here includes all of the tlx, tty and components in eq. (8.4). The first correction term in the square brackets is called the Gaunt interaction, and the whole term in the square brackets is the Breit interaction. The Dirac matiices appear since they represent the velocity operators in a relativistic description. The Gaunt term is a magnetic interaction (spin) while the other term represents a retardation effect. Eq. (8.27) is more often written in the form... [Pg.210]

New (magnetic) interactions in the Hamilton operator due to electron spin. This destroys the picture of an orbital having a definite spin. [Pg.214]

Magnetic interaction in metal complexes with bridging nitrogen-heterocvclic ligands. M. Inoue and M. Kubo, Coord. Chem. Rev., 1976, 21,1-27 (110). [Pg.44]

Study of the relationship between the structural data and magnetic interaction in cxo-bridged binu-cleaT copper(II) compounds. M. Melnik, Coord. Chem. Rev., 1982,42,259-293 (147). [Pg.50]

Spin-orbit coupling, which arises from the magnetic interactions amongst electrons, splits the F term into levels Fj with J values varying from the sum (L -i-5 ) to the difference IL-51, as usual. We find J ranging 0 to 6 in this case. For less-... [Pg.199]

The multifrequency EPR and Mdssbauer properties of the [FesSJ in C. vinosum NiFe-hydrogenase are particularly interesting since they provide evidence of magnetic interactions with nearby paramagnetic species (151, 154, 155). The magnetically isolated form exhibits a well-resolved, almost axial EPR signal, g = 2.018, 2.016, 2.002, indicative of minimal conformational heterogeneity. However, a com-... [Pg.26]
