Machinery industry

The Research Association of Micro Chemical Process Technology (abbreviation MCPT) was established in July 2002 with the aim to conduct experimental research on micro-chemical process technology through the collaborative work of its members. The association has been implementing R D together with its members from 29 different firms of various industries including the chemical industry, the precision machinery industry, and the electrical equipments and electronics industry. In addition, the participation of national, public, and private universities as well as independent administrative institutions has been greatly appreciated. 

The actual plant will process T 000 tons of scrap tires collected each year by Automotive Tire Trading Association. The plant is funded by several public agencies such as Kikai Shinko Kyokai (Japan Society for the Promotion of Machinery Industry), Clean Japan Center, Hyogo Shigen Sairiyo Jigyo-dan (Hyogo Prefecture Resource Recovery Incorporation). Fig. 4 shows a view of the pyrolysis plant and Fig. 5 is the layout of the plant.

The production of the chemical Industry in Japan has been very positive, showing a consecutive growth over the last 9 years since 1982. The chemical industry represented 1,4% of the total shipment value of the whole Japanese manufacturing industries in 1989. This was ranked at the 4th position after the three big sectors, namely, electric/electronic industries 17,1%), transportation industries (14.1%), and machinery industries (10.0%). 

Specialised polymers, which are mainly used in engineering applications in the automobile, aircraft and machinery industries, are known as engineering polymers. In this group, aliphatic polyamides are the most important and most widely used. A large number of aliphatic polyamides are obtained from vegetable oil-based products. Among these nylon 6,10, nylon 11, nylon 6,9 and poly(amido amine) are very important. One of the most important commercially used polymers, nylon 11, is obtained entirely from castor oU, whereas vegetable oil-derived components are only partly used to prepare other polymers.

When methods and markets have been established, the experience in the development of new processes for conventional textiles shows that the expertise of the textile machinery industry will lead to remarkable increases in speed and efficiency. For example, yarn texturing, which was introduced as a long sequence of batch processes 40 years ago, had been converted within 10 years to a continuous process at 10 m/min, and with current machinery approaches 1000 m/min.

China Food and Packaging Machinery Industry Association (CFPMA) was founded in 1989 with approval by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. CFPMA is a nationwide industrial association voluntarily composed of manufacturers, corporations, research institutes and universities involved in the field of food-processing and packaging machinery in China. The mission of CFPMA is to serve the members of the trade and promote the development of the whole industry. CFPMA serves as a bridge between the government, manufacturers and users.

It provides information on the local and foreign automobile industry, introduces local automobile and automobile parts manufacturers. 

There are differences from industry to industry. The chemical industry and the pharmaceutical industry in particular seem to be frontrunners in the internationalisation of R D, whereas the aircraft industry concentrates R D in the home country (Creamer 1976). International consolidation and the M A boom let other industries catch up fast. Besides industry specifics, firms conduct R D in technical fields in which the home country has an international advantage (Patel, Vega 1999 Barre 1995). For instance, in Germany the chemical and electrical machinery industries are the frontrunners of the trend towards foreign R D activities (Beise, Belitz 1998 Beckmann, Fischer 1994). 

In Germany, the textile industry is one of the most powerful and modern industrial branches. The total sales of the textile and apparel industry, the textile machinery industry, chemical fiber production, and the textile trade amounted to 108 billion (about 139 billion USD) in 2012. More than 45,000 companies employed around 684,000 workers.
