The first announcement of plans for the United States came in the winter of 1980 when it was revealed by the Assistant Secretary of Defense that, at a cost of US 230 million, she would be converted into a 2,000 bed mobile hospital with all associated facilities. By the spring of 1981 the cost of the conversion had been re-estimated at US 395 million. The Loyola Hall was one of San Angeles s more prestigious live-event venues. Land grid array (LGA), an Intel package used for parts such as the 80386L microprocessor. The package is similar to a PGA except that it has gold-plated pads (called landing pads) vs. pins. On Piper Alpha, primary (helicopter) escape was simply not an option because of the lire. Smoke had quickly engulfed the landing pad. Many of the crew mustered in the dining room of the Accommodation Module as the emergency plan required, but no clear further instructions were ever given. No secondary escape was even at-tanpted, and no lifeboats were launched. When the final huge explosion occurred at 2320 hours the Accommodation Module fell into the sea, but by that time the 81 people inside the module had already died from smoke inhalation.

In a special class of internal initiations, the ribosomes bind at a specific internal AUG codon to start translation. The internal AUG may be located as far as 800 bases from the 5 end as in picornaviruses with uncapped, (+)-sense genomic RNAs. According to the model of cap-independent translation or internal ribosome entry (55), the internal RBS or ribosome landing pad is a 5 UTR sequence that forms a stable stem-loop structure. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and some retroviruses also use an internal AUG codon, rather than ribosomal frameshifting, to express their reverse transcriptase genes (56,57). 

Onshore processing facilities, and modules brought onshore, have to be cleaned of all hazardous compounds and scrapped. Cellars of single wells, drilling pads, access roads and buildings will have to be removed. If reservoir compaction affects the surface area above the abandoned field future land use may be prevented, in particular in coastal or low land environments.

Compressors built to the API standard are required to have equal thrust capability in both directions that is, the bearing is to be symmetrically constructed. However, the thrust bearings can be combined using various numbers of pads on each side, or a tapered land can be combined with the multiple-segment design. Other combinations of the four thrust bear ings discussed are found in certain isolated applications. 

Geomembrane These liners chiefly provide impermeable barriers. They can be characterized as (1) solid waste containment hazardous landfill, landfill capping, and sanitary landfill (2) liquid containment canal, chemical/brine pond, earthen dam, fish farm, river/coastal bank, waste-water, and recreation (3) mining, leach pad and tailing ponds and (4) specialties floating reservoir caps, secondary containment, tunnel, erosion, vapor barrier, and water purification. Plastics used include medium to very low density PE, PVC, and chlorosulfonated PE (CSPE). (The Romans used in their land and road constructions what we call geomembrane.)...

Products using the patented MYCELX chemistry are available in a number of forms for various field site-specific apphcafions, including booms for water surface pads for deeper water and land application loose, such as on wood chips, for various water (including wetlands) and...

A Long-term Storage Center (LSC) of the Pacific region - an open-air land-based storage pad on Ustrishny Cap close to Razboinik Bay - is under construction. According to the results of the performed Feasibility Study (FS) and the enviromnental impact assessment, such layout was recognized as the best option from the technical, economic and enviromnental safety standpoint. 

When personnel are transported to exploration sites by helicopter or airplane, landing strips and pads should be carefully selected to avoid damage to sensitive habitat and endangered or threatened species.
