A variety of methods have been utilized to communicate with the public and to solicit public input regarding chemical weapons destruction. Public information sessions have a very narrow dynamic. A few representatives from the Army, usually public affairs officers, are positioned at the front of the room and the citizens primarily serve an audience role. At some point in the hearing, the members of the public are invited to express their concerns or their support or to ask questions about a decision already made by the Army. This style of public interaction is often called Decide, Announce, Defend , and it offers very little in the way of a constructive role for the pubhc in actual decision-making. 

We are grateful to the participants not only for the high standard of the talks and posters presented at the workshop, which is reflected in this proceedings volume, but also for the friendly and constructive atmosphere throughout the formal and informal sessions. The QSCP workshops continue to provide a unique forum for the presentation and discussion of new ideas and developments. 

We held two hour-long information sessions to further allay fears and explain, over and over, the details of the collection process. Teachers were encouraged, not required, to attend—and we made sure that all the information was conveyed multiple ways (over email, in hard copy, in person). In every case, we tried to reassure members of the community that this was indeed a program assessment, and not an evaluation of them as individual teachers. 

Overall, it is vital that agreements include information sessions of the research so that consent is granted and accountability between partnering institutions is transparent. At this point, the best way to ensure that benefits are to return to host countries, and property rights are respected, is by following the Bonn Guidelines to adopt suitable and comprehensive ABS laws and practices at the national level.

The best way to train employees on the use of most types of PPE, including hand protection, is to demonstrate its use in an informal session before the start of the work day. Gather together one sample of each t3rpe of glove, lotion, cream, sleeve, or other type of hand protection in use on yoru worksite and do a mini-demonstration. You need not show eveiy worker every type of hand protection, but make sure you show each worker the type to be used for the work being performed by that person.

The information sessions must be carefully planned and organized. After eonsultation with the local administration (town councils of the affeeted munieipaUties), the soeial groups at which the sessions are to be aimed must be identified. This ineludes the administration s technical staff, neighborhood associations, teachers, cultural and sports associations, as well as the workers in the industries affected. 

After each information session a report should be produced in which any incidents or questions must be noted. It is also recommended that after a certain number of sessions representatives from all the groups involved in the campaign (authorities, institutions) meet to... 

The eampaign was promoted hy the Civil Proteetion Service of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia and was eoordinated by a publie relations company, which arranged the information sessions and eoordinated all people involved. 

A total of 55 information sessions were held. There was a great deal of variety, as much in the number of participants as in their attitudes towards the campaign, the chemical industry, and the administration. 

The number of people attending the information sessions was the only disappointing aspect of the campaign. For future campaigns these sessions must he better publicized, especially in those areas in which the population is not aware of the risks of large accidents.

Schedule in regular (if informal) sessions with patients, even on acute wards where you can easily just end up seeing them on a PRN basis. You can build valuable therapeutic relationships with most patients, in the worst of circumstances, and they will reward you.

For the Prometheus project, public information sessions were held by NASA and NR to initiate the process for a preliminary environmental impact statement (PEIS), as dictated by the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA). Work was initiated to define the reactor plant options and ground based testing needs using a pre-decisional scoping approach. The schedule of follow-on design and testing activities would be guided by compliance with NEPA requirements. 

The bcpss ss-hs project also recruited and paid a parent fi om each school community to function as a parent liaison to the neighborhood. These liaisons perform multiple functions that fall within different categorizations of care. Within the selected level, parent liaisons identify informational needs that certain caregivers have and coordinate appropriate responses to these. Activities may include hosting an informational session on lead poisoning or a group question-and-answer session with an attorney.
