INDEX management systems

All activities carried out under the management system must be recorded and documented to facilitate retrieval as part of management, external review, or an audit. These documents must be identified and indexed and must be kept securely for a defined period. Electronic records must be secure, available only to properly identified personnel, and appropriately backed... 

Absolute systems require the rater to indicate whether or not the employee is meeting a set of predetermined criteria for performance. This usually involves the use of a scale or index. Absolute systems are the most commonly employed of the three types of performance appraisal methods (Byars and Rue, 2000, p. 277). The main advantage that absolute systems have over other types of appraisal methods is the feedback that is derived inherently from the process. Allowing employees to see how they are evaluated among criteria deemed important by management enables them to learn about their strengths and the areas in which they will require improvement. 

Until now research efforts in safety management have been focussing primarily on the number of accidents (system failures leading to personal injuries andlor material damages) as the prime index for system safety. There are three main reasons for redirecting our attention in this respect ...

Anyone applying for a patent at the national or international level is required to determine whether their creation is new or is already owned or claimed. To determine this, huge amounts of information must be searched. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization s (WIPO) International Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) have created classification systems which organize information concerning inventions into indexed, manageable categories for easy retrieval.

Some leaders of the larger coal mines think that the enterprise has passed ISO quality management system and HSE management system certification, and safety standardization has little difference with safety management and safety standards, so they do no need to carry out safety standardization construction. DMS Document-management systems that perform much the same as PDMS for the more general class of documents occurring in a company. Also enables fast retrieval by indexes, keywords, document types, and even text search. 

Failure Mode and Costs Analysis. Failure Mode and Cost Analysis (Figure 2) applied to the omission of an activity in the Integrated Management System enables the systematic consideration of the failure modes that may result from the described omission and the evaluation of the probability and cost effective of this failure form. The P Index (on a scale of 1 to 10), called rate of occurrence, is assigned to the probability occurrence of the failure form. The C Index (on a scale of 1 to 10), called cost index is assigned to the effective failure cost. The product of both indices is called cost priority number (CPN). Value of CPN identifies the significant failure forms. The cost of a failure form will be the product of the failure mode probability and the effective failure cost.

In batch-oriented quality management systems, such as good manufacturing practice (GMP), the batch number of an active substance or a product is the main index variable, where the entire information about sourcing of materials, manufacturing, analysis (control), packaging, and distribution is attached. 

In study-based quality management systems, such as good laboratory practice (GLP) and good clinical practice (GCP), the study number is considered as the main index variable and any other information along the meta-data model can be derived from it. With the help of the meta-data model (see Box Meta-Data Model), it can be checked easily if the information of the documented GxP-relevant process is complete. 

At Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), we have been using computer data-base management systems to inanage benchmark data in two formats (a) the bibliography of experimental criticality data and (b) the numerical benchmarks in a form ready for use by criticality computer codes. The first of these efforts resulted in a three-volume publication of references relevant to well-documented relatively clean experiments.
