Eosinophilic pneumonia

Eosinophilic pneumonia Pulmonary infiltrates with eosinophilia. If this occurs during the course of therapy, discontinue the drug. [Pg.771]

Eosinophilic infiltrations have been described with tolbutamide (SEDA-8, 917 90), and chronic eosinophilic pneumonia has been described with chlorpropamide (91) and tolazamide (92). [Pg.446]

There has also been a report of an acute eosinophilic pneumonia associated with peripheral blood eosinophilia in a patient with follicular lymphoma (5). [Pg.1391]

In one patient, interstitial pulmonary edema with pulmonary failure was supposedly a first-dose reaction (24). Reversible eosinophilic pneumonia has also been reported (SEDA-19, 342). [Pg.1554]

A 33-year-old man with a 3-year history of Crohn s disease had previously received a weU-tolerated single infusion of infliximab. When, 14 months later, he received a second infusion for exacerbation of the disease he had no immediate adverse effects, but complained of myalgia, arthralgia, nausea, and vomiting 7 days later and received diphenhydramine. After 3 days he had dyspnea, fever, and chills. An open lung biopsy showed features of eosinophilic pneumonia and no... [Pg.1749]

Data on the safety of loxoprofen are based on an open, multicenter trial of about 4000 elderly patients in Japan (SEDA-17, 112). Adverse effects were mainly gastrointestinal, but other adverse effects, common to every NSAID, included edema, dizziness, skin rashes, pruritus, and a case of eosinophilic pneumonia and liver dysfunction (SEDA-17,112). [Pg.2173]

Immunoallergic reactions have been reported with minocycline and include lupus-like syndrome, autoimmune hepatitis, eosinophilic pneumonia, hypersensitivity syndrome, a serum sickness-like illness (29), and Sweet s syndrome (SEDA-21, 262) (SEDA-22, 271). Over 60 minocycline-induced cases of lupus-like syndrome and 24 cases of minocycline-induced autoimmune hepatitis were found in a review of the literature (30). In 13 patients, both disorders co-existed. These patients had symmetrical polyarthralgia/polyarthritis, raised liver enzymes, and positive antinuclear antibodies they were also generally antihistone-negative, and only two patients had p-ANCA antibodies. Minocycline-related lupus can also occur in adolescents (31). [Pg.2350]

Atypical courses have been rarely described (5). A mixed type of reaction can occur after an initial short fever peak, the patient becomes either afebrile or subfeb-rile, despite continuing to take nitrofurantoin and unabated activity of the lung process, or a typical chronic reaction converts to a typical acute reaction on re-expo-sure to nitrofurantoin after withdrawal. Acute reactions can occur without clinical symptoms, and can be recognized only on X-ray. Single cases of pulmonary hemorrhage, eosinophilic pneumonia, and interstitial giant cell pneumonia have also been reported (26,27). [Pg.2543]

Acute eosinophilic pneumonia after one dose of inhaled pentamidine of 300 mg has been reported the reaction subsided within 2 weeks but recurred on rechallenge (SEDA-18, 292). [Pg.2774]

Acnte eosinophilic pneumonia has been attributed to pranoprofen in a 48-year-old man (2). [Pg.2909]

Eosinophilic pneumonia of acute onset has been attributed to roxithromycin (5). [Pg.3084]

Some cases of eosinophilic pneumonia have been described after sulfonamides (Feinmann 1975 Thomas et al. 1974 Anonymous 1974). Furthermore, pathological liver changes are reported similar to those in hepatitis, sometimes with a cholestatic component which recurred after repeated application of sulfonamides (Iwarson and Lundin 1979 Steinbrecher and Mischkin 1981). [Pg.524]
