D = Dnorm Cl/Clnorm D = Dnorm Fl/2norm/Fl/2 The administration interval could be selected based on standard peak and trough concentrations or from effect duration time (TED50, TED90). If the dose is reduced, a loading dose (Dload = Cpeak Vd = Dnorm) must be administered to obtain an immediate effect. If Dnorm = const. [Pg.959]

PFPE, AI2O3, and X-IP were 500 mg, 200 mg, and 100 mg, respectively. The materials in Samples 2 to 4 were sufficiently mixed to ensure that the liquid PFPE and X-IP completely wet the alumina powders. These specimens were put in a closed space hlled with inert nitrogen. The flow rate of the nitrogen gas was kept at 20 milliliters per minute. The environmental temperature of the system was set at 220 ° C and the duration time was 250 minutes per sample for each individual operation procedure. PFPE used in the experiment was Z-dol and the alumina was in ultra-fine powders with chemical analytic grade purity. [Pg.216]

The cytotoxic activities of the 2, 2 -difluoro analog (775) of 737 against Chinese hamster ovary and tumor cells, in comparison with those of 1- -d-arabinofuranosylcytosine ara-C, a drug for leukemia), have been studied 775 is transported the faster through membrane into cells, more effectively phosphorylated by the deoxycytidine kinase (to the 5 -mono-phosphate) and, after conversion into the 5 -triphosphate, more highly accumulated in the cells, with longer duration time, than is ara-C, but nevertheless 775 is incorporated into the DNA to a lesser extent than is ara-C. These characteristics of 775 were discussed. [Pg.246]

Unpublished laboratory results of PMV about high temperature treatment of RCP with suitable exhaust air and duration time showed a significant reduction of the volatile mineral oil constitutions of a magnitude of up to 98%. An up-scaling of those process stages or even an industrial implementation is not yet realised because the laboratory conditions cannot be transferred in an economical way. [Pg.406]

In order to ensure that the heat-integrated units are active within a common time interval, the following con constraints is necessary. In constraints (10.18), unit j has a relatively longer duration time than unit j. If duration times are equal, then constraints (10.19) and (10.20) are necessary. [Pg.226]

In a situation where duration time varies with the mode of operation, the duration constraints has to be modified as shown in constraints (10.21) and (10.22) for units j and j, respectively. [Pg.226]

Constraints (11.17) shows how the variation in duration due to the heat integration mode is accounted for in the mathematical model. It is very likely that the duration times will be affected by the mode of operation and this should not be ignored in the formulation. [Pg.241]

Therefore the short-lived species (Amax 340—350 nm and 490—510 nm, lifetime 40 ms in presence of OH and 0,3 ms in presence of methylamine) observed cannot be an intermediate and is probably the radical anion of mNA i h... [Pg.73]

As described, other nucleophilic reactions in the anthraquinone series also involve the production of anion-radicals. These reactions are as follows Hydroxylation of 9,10-anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid (Fomin and Gurdzhiyan 1978) hydroxylation, alkoxylation, and cyanation in the homoaromatic ring of 9,10-anthraquinone condensed with 2,1,5-oxadiazole ring at positions 1 and 2 (Gorelik and Puchkova 1969). These studies suggest that one-electron reduction of quinone proceeds in parallel to the main nucleophilic reaction. The concentration of anthraquinone-2-sulfonate anion-radicals, for example, becomes independent of the duration time of the reaction with an alkali hydroxide, and the total yield of the anion-radicals does not exceed 10%. Inhibitors (oxygen, potassium ferricyanide) prevent formation of anion-radicals, and the yield of 2-hydroxyanthraquinone even increases somewhat. In this case, the anion-radical pathway is not the main one. The same conclusion is made in the case of oxadiazoloanthraquinone. [Pg.225]

It is theoretically predicted that the formation of the breather is accompanied by the collective oscillation of the bond-length, which can be detected in the pump-probe experiment as modulation of the instantaneous vibrational frequencies. The simulation of a frequency distribution of the vibrational frequencies and a spectrogram was made with a modulation period of 44-fs and a modulation duration time of 50-fs. The evidence of the modulation appears in the spectrogram in the shape of satellite-bands S , S and D , D on both sides of the main vibrational modes S and D, respectively with the same separation. These sidebands do not appear in cis-rich samples. These results clearly suggests that the unidentified... [Pg.487]

Atmospheric effects of large-scale TNT expins have also been studied in depth both practically and theoretically. Factors considered include pressure and impulse effects, decay characteristics and travel and duration times, all as a function of distance, and for both free-field and reflection situations (Refs 3,9,15,16, 17,24,32, 33,34,35,36,44, 53,75,76,115 116). A distinction is made between the blast area dose to the source, comprising air and the products of expln, and that farther away involving air only (Ref 53). Double-burst conditions (fireball and shock wave interaction, and torus formation) have been studied (Ref 149), as have also the dynamics of dust formation and motion (Refs 25,26 117). Performance tests were run on a naval blast valve (Ref 92), and on aircraft wing panels (Ref 4)... [Pg.765]

Edmond Becquerel (1820-1891) was the nineteenth-century scientist who studied the phosphorescence phenomenon most intensely. Continuing Stokes s research, he determined the excitation and emission spectra of diverse phosphors, determined the influence of temperature and other parameters, and measured the time between excitation and emission of phosphorescence and the duration time of this same phenomenon. For this purpose he constructed in 1858 the first phosphoroscope, with which he was capable of measuring lifetimes as short as 10-4 s. It was known that lifetimes considerably varied from one compound to the other, and he demonstrated in this sense that the phosphorescence of Iceland spar stayed visible for some seconds after irradiation, while that of the potassium platinum cyanide ended after 3.10 4 s. In 1861 Becquerel established an exponential law for the decay of phosphorescence, and postulated two different types of decay kinetics, i.e., exponential and hyperbolic, attributing them to monomolecular or bimolecular decay mechanisms. Becquerel criticized the use of the term fluorescence, a term introduced by Stokes, instead of employing the term phosphorescence, already assigned for this use [17, 19, 20], His son, Henri Becquerel (1852-1908), is assigned a special position in history because of his accidental discovery of radioactivity in 1896, when studying the luminescence of some uranium salts [17]. [Pg.7]

Historically, the first techniques designed to achieve independet control over pitch or duration were carried out in the time domain Fairbanks, Everitt and Jaeger s modified tape recorder [Fairbanks et al., 1954] probably is the first known automatic time-domain system for speech transposition. By contrast with frequency-domain methods, time-domain techniques for time or pitch scale modification manipulate short-duration time-segments extracted from the original signal, a mechanism usually called sampling or splicing As a result, they tend to require much fewer calculations and lend themselves quite well to real-time implementations. [Pg.447]
