Tape recorders

Usually all the flaw detectors in service have two channels to detect defects of a rope the LMA and LF channels. The inspection information is recorded by a chart recorder or by a tape recorder. 

Infringement of rights other than that of reproduction, such as the rights of pubHc performance or display, are more easily proven directiy by evidence of the infringing acts, eg, by a tape recording of a pubHc performance. 

The turbine undergoes three basic tests, these are hydrostatic, mechanical, and performance. Hydrostatic tests are to be conducted on pressure-containing parts with water at least one-and-a-half times the maximum operating pressure. The mechanical run tests are to be conducted for at least a period of four hours at maximum continuous speed. This test is usually done at no-load conditions. It checks out the bearing performance and vibration levels as well as overall mechanical operability. It is suggested that the user have a representative at this test to tape record as much of the data as possible. The data are helpful in further evaluation of the unit or can be used as base-line data. Performance tests should be conducted at maximum power with normal fuel composition. The tests should be conducted in accordance with ASME PTC-22, which is described in more detail in Chapter 20.

Additionally, in the early stages of AD there may be value in the use of techniques to supplement residual capabilities these may just involve the use of external memory aids, such as notebooks, tape recorders or memory stickers, but they can be very useful. Kingberry Court is a pseudonym for a cul de sac in which interviews were conducted between April and October 2003. These were tape-recorded and transcribed, and lasted between one and two hours. When initiating the interview, we asked to speak with the member of the household who did most of the yard work. In all but one case we were directed toward the adult male in the family. In four of the eight interviews, only the adult male was present. In three of the interviews, however, the wife also sat down with us or hovered nearby and often added her own observations, which usually confirmed the husband s opinions.

Most people do not object to having a tape recorder record their conversation, but it is always polite to ask beforehand if a tape recorder is acceptable. Always remember to pack extra batteries just in case your tape recorder nms out of power, and always bring along a pad to take notes throughout the interview—even if you have a tape recorder playing.
