Sepro Conta.iner, The Sepro container consists of a collapsible plastic bag fitted into a standard three-piece, tin-plated container such as a 202 X 214, 202 x 406, or 202 x 509 can. The product is placed within the bag, and the propellant is added through the bottom of the container, which is fitted with a one-way valve. There is no limitation on the viscosity of the product but compatibiUty with the plastic bag must be considered. A free-dowing hquid can be dispensed either as a stream or a fine spray, depending on the type of valve employed. A viscous material is often dispensed as a stream. This system has been used for caulking compounds, postfoaming gels, and depilatories.

Skin wool is the term appHed to fellmongered wool, usually removed from skins by a sweating process involving bacterial action or by action of hme-sulftde depilatory.

Calcium hydroxide [Ca (OH) ] is known as slaked or hydrated lime and is formed by exposing calcium oxide to water. Slaked lime is less caustic than quick lime. Therefore, it is used to line football fields. (Unslaked lime, CaO, is very caustic when wet, and if it is used on playing fields, players may receive caustic burns.) Calcium hydroxide has many uses, including as an ingredient for stonemasons mortar, cements, whitewash, and soil conditioner (high pH), as a food additive, and as a human depilatory. 

Strontium sulfide (SrS) smells like rotten eggs. It is used as a depilatory to remove hair from skin and hides. 

Arsenic disulfide (AsS) is also known as ruby arsenic because it is a reddish-orange powder. It is used as a depilatory agent, a paint pigment, and a rat poison and to make red glass and fireworks. 

Along with hthium, it is used to make special batteries for spacecraft and infrared lamps. Tellurium can be used as a p-type semiconductor, but more efficient elements can do a better job. It is also used as a depilatory, which removes hair from skin. 

Uses. In the formulations of permanent wave solutions and depilatories in pharmaceutical manufacture as a stabilizer in vinyl plastics... 

Arsenic sulfide occurs in nature as the mineral realgar. It is used as a pigment in pyrotechnics to produce blue fire in dyeing and calico printing and as a depilatory for hides. 

Calcium hydroxide has wide industrial applications. It is used to make cement, mortar, plaster, and other building materials. It also is used in water soluble paints, and for fireproofing coatings and lubricants. Other applications are in the manufacture of paper pulp as a preservative for egg in vulcanization of rubber as a depilatory for hides and in preparation of many calcium salts.

Arsenikon and sandarach mean to Dioscorides, as to Theophrastus, respectively orpiment and realgar. The former, yellow scales or plates, is used in medicine as a depilatory and a caustic. Heated alone, or with charcoal, it loses color and leaves a mass which cooled and powdered is a deadly poison (arsenious oxide). Curdled milk is said to be an antidote. Sandarach, red like cinnabar (dragon s blood, he means), behaves when heated like arsenikon, and in general has properties similar to that substance. He notes that it gives a sulphureous odor when roasted. 

Realgar is employed as a depilatory in tanning, its red colour being a desirable feature in the treatment of hides and skins. It has been used as a paint pigment under the name of arsenic orange, but it is not too permanent and is now seldom used. Its early use as a remedy for asthma, etc., has been mentioned (p. 23). Unless carefully prepared, the commercial product is liable to contain white arsenic, and the poisonous nature of the latter tends to limit the applications of realgar.

Potassium, sodium and calcium sulphides are applied externally to soften the skin by dissolving the epidermis in diseases such as psoriasis, acne and seborrhea. Mixtures of calcium or potassium polysulphides and thiosulphate behave similarly and are also depilatories. Another common hair remover is barium sulphide, mixed with starch or zinc oxide, whereas selenium suphide and cadmium sulphide are applied topically, in shampoos, to control dandruff. 

Radioactivity was a sensation in the first decade of this century. The very concept of rays that could go right through you without you feeling a thing caused shivers of schadenfreud and for some the exposure of ones skeleton to outside view was uneasily akin to the exposure of ones soul. Conversely, the hair-loss associated with exposure to X-rays or radioactivity led to at least one clinic being set up, to which women flocked, using uranium salts as depilatory treatment.
