Process conventional

Hydrorefining can substitute for extraction processes such as furfural where it integrates perfectly into the conventional process scheme. [Pg.396]

The efficiency of gas turbines is limited by the maximum allowable turbine inlet temperature (TIT). The TIT may be increased by cooling of the blades and vanes of the high pressure turbine. Cooling channels can be casted into the components or may be drilled afterwards. Non-conventional processes like EDM, ECD or Laser are used for drilling. Radiographic examination of the drilled components is part of the inspection procedure. Traditional X-Ray film technique has been used. The consumable costs, the waste disposal and the limited capacity of the two film units lead to the decision to investigate the alternative of Real-Time X-Ray. [Pg.453]

The performance of black powder is critically dependent on the degree of intimacy of the components in the product. The manufacture of black powder is essentially a procedure for bringing the ingredients into maximum mutual contact. A detailed flow chart for the conventional process is presented in Figure 10. [Pg.51]

It is difficult to process HPPE staple fibers mechanically because of so-called married fibers which are bundles of 4—6 fibers that firmly adhere to each other and resist separation by conventional processing. Although HPPE fibers like to adhere to each other, they exhibit poor adhesion to other materials. [Pg.68]

Laminated glass is used for solar control, particularly where a highly reflective surface is not desired and where the laminate contributes other benefits. In these applications, a uniformly pigmented interlayer is obtained from the manufacturer and the laminate can be prepared by the conventional process. Broad ranges of colors and transmission levels are available with shading coefficients as low as 0.41. Pigmented interlayer is considered to be more... [Pg.528]

Despite extensive studies, laser photochemical deposition has not yet replaced the conventional processes for fabrication of integrated circuits, except in selected appHcations such as making and breaking of selected links for customization of circuits and in the repair of defects. The reason is that laser processing of an entire wafer has remained more expensive than the conventional processes. [Pg.19]

The initiation of development in the activator solution is more rapid than in conventional processes because the developer molecules need not diffuse into the light-sensitive layers from the processing solution. In spite of the low activity of the coated developer, some unintentional reduction sensitization may occur, which produces unwanted fog. Therefore, coating the developer in a separate layer usually is preferred. Because of simplicity, rapid access, and solution stabihty, incorporated developer papers have been used for office copying appHcations. [Pg.456]

Depending on the final polymerization conditions, an equilibrium concentration of monomers (ca 8%) and short-chain oligomers (ca 2%) remains (72). Prior to fiber spinning, most of the residual monomer is removed. In the conventional process, the molten polymer is extmded as a strand, solidified, cut into chip, washed to remove residual monomer, and dried. In some newer continuous processes, the excess monomer is removed from the molten polymer by vacuum stripping. [Pg.251]

Esterification. Extensive commercial use is made of primary amyl acetate, a mixture of 1-pentyl acetate [28-63-7] and 2-metliylbutyl acetate [53496-15-4]. Esterifications with acetic acid are generally conducted in the Hquid phase in the presence of a strong acid catalyst such as sulfuric acid (34). Increased reaction rates are reported when esterifications are carried out in the presence of heteropoly acids supported on macroreticular cation-exchange resins (35) and 2eohte (36) catalysts in a heterogeneous process. Judging from the many patents issued in recent years, there appears to be considerable effort underway to find an appropriate soHd catalyst for a reactive distillation esterification process to avoid the product removal difficulties of the conventional process. [Pg.373]

The Printing Process. Tme integration of all facets of the printing process is limited, in most cases, to sporadic measurements of the individual elements and processes that contribute to the final product. There is only a limited effort underway as of the mid-1990s to estabUsh close links between electronic prepress and conventional processes such as proofing, plate-making, and printing. [Pg.56]

TSR 5. Within the Malaysian scheme SMR 5 is restricted to mbber derived from sheet material prepared by conventional processes, ie, ribbed smoked sheet (RSS), air-dried sheet (ADS), and unsmoked sheet (USS) and presented in small bale form. Other countries may source different raw materials, eg, Indonesia produces SIR 5 from thin latex coagulum (14). SMR 5 prepared by pressing dry-sheet material into standard bales must be identified by the type of sheet material, eg, SMR 5RSS, on the test certificate as well as on the wrapping. [Pg.268]

Research Trends. Research since the late 1970s appears to have centered on further process modifications and optimization of conventional processes, reduction in pollution, evaluation of potentially more efficient processing technology, increased use of less expensive softwood sources to extend the available hardwood suppHes, and accommodation of recycled newspaper pulp (see Recycling, paper). [Pg.83]

One concern in conventional processing is the achievement of uniform reagent appUcation and uniform cross-linking (18). An area in which adequate treatment of aU fibers is necessary is in flame-retardant finishing. One means of obtaining thorough treatment has been the use of vacuum impregnation, in which the fabric is first passed over a vacuum slot to remove air from the fabric interstices, foUowed by exposure to the phosphoms flame-retardant solution in the precondensate ammonia system (19). [Pg.442]

Membranes are found as adjiincis to most conventional processes, since their use can improve overall economics in cases where membrane strength coincides with conventional process weakness. [Pg.2053]

Electrostatic method This is also a w et method like the conventional process, except that the paint is now electrostatically charged, similar to the powder ptiint in a dry method as discussed later. The paint, being highly charged electrostatically, is wrapped around the object automatically. [Pg.405]

EVA polymers have been important for film manufacture. They are not competitive with normal film because of the high surface tack and friction which make them difficult to handle on conventional processing machinery. However, because of their somewhat rubbery nature, gloss, permeability, and good impact... [Pg.276]
