The Medicines Assessment Advisory Committee (MAAC) was established in 1984 under the provisions of section 8 of the Medicines Act 1981 as an advisory committee to the Minister of Health. Prior to 1984 the Drug Assessment Advisory Committee operated under the provisions of the now-repealed Food and Drug Act 1969. The MAAC is made up of experts in various fields of medicine, clinical pharmacology, toxicology, statistics and pharmaceutical chemistry. The MAAC and its subcommittees currently include a total of 16 members, some of whom serve as core members and some as pool members. Core members attend all meetings of the committee, whereas pool members attend only those meetings for which they have conducted assessments of applications within their areas of expertise. The MAAC meets four times a year. 

The promotional material must not include references to the National Organisation for Medicines (EOF), the European Medicines and Evaluation Agency (EMEA) and the committees operating under the responsibility thereof, or under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, unless this is required by the competent authorities.

Consensus-Based Test Standards. Most fire and flammability test standards are developed by consensusbased committees. The rules and procedures hy which these committees operate ensure that the development cannot be dominated by a single interest group and that there is reasonable agreement between the different interest groups represented on the committee. 

These committees are usually union safety committees, with membership determined by the union. Some workplaces with more than one union will have more than one union safety conunittee. The committee operates without management and meets regularly with management to discuss safety issues. At these meetings, the committee raises concerns. 

Employer safety and health duties stem from several legal sources. Important among those duties are compliance with standards, operation of safety and health programs, and support of legally mandatory joint safety and health committees operating at the workplace level. 

Political action, particularly emanating from the Manchester chemical industry, had secured a close relationship between river inspectors and industrial polluters within which there was considerable potential to negotiate standards. The policy of co-operation rather than prosecution meant, in effect, that the courts no longer set standards or decided best practicable means where Joint Watershed Committees operated. 

As described in the section on TC221, these two committees operate under the Vienna Agreement, which was briefly described. 

The China Die and Mold Industry Association was founded in 1984. It is the sole nationwide organization for the dies and moulds trade in China. Under the Council of Directors, there are nine special committees Technical Committee, Operation and Management Committee, Consulting and Education/Training Committee, Die and Mold Standard Part and Component Committee, Committee of Information of Die Mold, Committee of Automobile Body Die Mold, Committee of Materials of Die Mold, Wire Drawing Die Committee, Rubber Mold Committee. 

Safe handling practices are essential at all stages of production, from the laboratory to the manufacturing operations. The safety committee should inspect and advise on processing equipment and be responsible for providing personal protection, eye wash fountains, safety showers, etc. 

The International Bureau of Weights and Measures, BIPM (Parc de Saint-Cloud, France) is described in Appendix X2 of Ref 4. This bureau operates under the exclusive supervision of the International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM). 

The next step in the procedure is to form a committee comprised of people with expertise specific to the process and chemistry involved. The committee could also include an industrial hygienist, an environmentalist, the process operators, a consultant, and others. The committee should not contain more than a dozen individuals. 

The safety review technique is also usehil for small laboratory operations and small changes in existing processes. In these cases, the committee often consists of two or three people and any changes are often less formally recommended. 

Perhaps the most notable aspect of the history of the API operation is that it has been shaped at every step by those who use the system. AC CA-05 is a 7 conference in analytical chemistry in Ukraine and it is dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist, Anatoly K. Babko for his expertise in analytical chemistry and in the chemistry of complex compounds. Tlie current conference is organised by Analytical Scientific Council at Academy of Sciences of Ukraine under collaboration with European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences (EuClicMS) and sponsored by Intemational Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (lUPAC) and by the Intemational Association for the Promotion of Co-operation with Scientists from the New Independent States of the Eormer Soviet Union (INTAS). 

Another useful approach is to attempt to get a broad review of the specification draft by operations, maintenance, and engineering. The specification must have an author who can write the basic document and who later edits the draft into the scope and language of the final specification. Single authorship, with committee review, is preferred over committee authorship. Only in rare instances is vendor participation in the specification authorship really justified, except in partnership relationships. 

The ACRS is an independent statutory committee that advises the Commission on reactor safety, and reviews each application for a construction permit or an operating license. It is composed of a maximum of fifteen members appointed by the Commission for terms of four years each. 

Since 1994, the automotive industry in the USA and Europe has been operating quality system certification schemes that extended the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 10011, and EN 45012. One of these schemes was addressed by my QS-9000 Quality S /stems Handbook, published in 1996. In the same year the automakers of the USA and Europe formed the International Automotive Task Force (lATF) which, in cooperation with the technical committee of the International Organization of Standardization (TO 176), produced ISO/TS 16949. Use of and registration to this new standard is currently voluntary. It is intended that following the first revision to incorporate ISO 9000 2000, the ISO/TS 16949 certification scheme will be mandated by all major vehicle manufacturers on their Tier 1 suppliers. As a result, the standard will be cascaded along the supply chain, ultimately reaching all suppliers to the global automotive industry. 

The operator of a plant, not an advisory committee, however eminent, is responsible for the safety of the plant and should not follow advice that it believes to be wrong just to save costs or avoid arguments.
