Operating committee

Pollution Prepention Guidance Manualfor the Dye Manufacturing Industry, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Operating Committee of ETAD, Washington, D.C., Dec. 1991. [Pg.379]

The primary tasks of the operating committee are to develop an operating procedure (SOP) and a validation protocol outline. The SOP should be the "what to do the protocol the "how to do it" including a listing of required documentation. [Pg.68]

Writing an SOP is usually a task for one person working with a group of advisors. In this case, one member of the operating committee should be assigned the task with support from the other committee members. [Pg.68]

Definitions. Each business group will have a set of worxing words and definitions to describe computer systems and their operations and functions within the group. These should be listed and clearly defined in the SOP. The key definition needed is for a computer system requiring validation a "validatable system". The practical determination of validatable systems in day-to-day operations is the responsibility of the operating committee. [Pg.68]

All projects have a life of their own and each person has a different methodology and timing for getting the job done. Success in computer systems validation will depend on the operating committee s ability to keep the process moving. One means of project control is a tracking format that identifies the key steps in the validation process and the anticipated and actual completion dates. [Pg.72]

This mechanism developed by the operating committee and filled out by the responsible user for all computer systems should be based on a standard outline of milestones, with additional key points customized to the particular type of computer system being validated. This is an outline of typical milestone dates 1) submission of a validation assessment form 2) committee review of the systems need for validation 3) development of the first draft protocol 4) committee review of the draft protocol.(Note steps 3 and 4 will be... [Pg.72]

A final quantitative example is that of determining the % ethylene in ethylene-propylene copolymers (EPM). The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IIRP) Technical/Operating Committee and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) cooperated to produce an updated standard method [56]. They also produced a set of standards with the ethylene content established by 13C NMR. Those standards were utilised by Parker and Waddell to study the photoacoustic determination of % ethylene [57]. Three of the four infrared band ratios specified by ASTM were measured, 1378/1462, 1378/722, and 1156/722. The fourth one, 1156/4255, was not used since it involves measurements in the near-IR region. Baselines were drawn by the valley-to-valley technique as illustrated in Figure 2.11. [Pg.64]

DON FUQUA is a U.S. Congressman representing the Second District of Florida. He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1958, re-elected in 1960, then elected to the U.S. House of Rq>resenta-tives in 1962. There he serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Science and Technology and its Subcommittee on Space Science and Applications, and is a member of the House Government Operations Committee. He is a graduate of the University of Florida. [Pg.277]

At the annual meeting of the Offshore Operators Committee held in December 2010, it was noted that 19.5% of offshore accidents are due to crane movement (closely associated with dropped objects events) and that the number of accidents in this area has not been improving. The favorable trend shown in Figure 1.11 does not apply to such accidents. For this reason, the OOC working the BOEMRE is researching the causes of such accidents so that actions can be taken to reduce their number. [Pg.59]

The RCSC is the basic internal safety review committee for HCF activities, providing an independent safety review of proposed activities and facility modifications. The committee acts in a advisory capacity to line management, and conducts reviews as set forth in an operational committee charter approved by the SNL Depufy Director, Nudear Facility Operations. The RCSC ensures HCF operations are based on sound engineering prindples and are maintained within the approved Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs). [Pg.370]

If a proposed change falls outside of plant specifications, codes of practice, or is relatively new technology, then a chemical process safety review team evaluation may be in order. Different organizations provide various names to process safely review teams, such as Safe Operations Committee, Hazards Review Committee, Technical Support Team, Facility and Operations Change Review Committee, or Chemical Process Safety Review Team. Typically, this technical safely committee is chaired by... [Pg.372]

The API and the Offshore Operators Committee (OOC) represent oil and gas companies working in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean (but not in the Pacific Ocean). The organization says the following about itself. [Pg.126]

The Ojfshore Operators Committee (OOC) is a non profit organization comprised of any person, firm or corporation owning offshore leases and any person, firm or corporation engaged in offshore activity as a drilling contractor, service company, supplier or other capacity that desires to participate in the work of OOC or the Offshore Operators Committee. [Pg.126]
