Child frame

A typical feature of expert systems that support frames is inheritance. Frames can be organized in a hierarchical structure. They can inherit properties (attributes) from frames that are higher in the hierarchy. The latter are therefore called parent frame and the former child frame. There are many varieties of the inheritance principle. Frames can have only one parent frame (simple inheritance) or may have multiple parent frames (multiple inheritance). All attributes can be inherited (full inheritance) or only a few, selected by the knowledge engineer, may be inherited (partial inheritance) by the child frames. An example of a simple inheritance organization of frames is shown in Table 43.1. The frame Organic Compound is the parent frame. The frames Ester and Acids are child frames of Organic Compound . A typical example of inheritance is instantiation. The frame Acetic acid is a child of Acids and, since no extra attributes are added, it is also an instantiation. 

Similar to attributes, procedures can be inherited by child frames when inheritance is supported. Object-oriented programming enormously enlarges the flexibility of frame-based systems. A disadvantage is, however, that it results often in unclear and intractable reasoning structures. Table 43.2 shows the small rule base of Fig. 43.2, translated in an object-oriented system.

For teachers the issues were necessarily differently framed their concern was with the child to be educated, whatever their background. Whilst placing great emphasis on their primary role to educate, these head teachers recognized and made allowances for children coming from difficult or disturbed backgrounds ...

Treatment should begin in the least restrictive setting that ensures personal safety, as it is important to maximize family involvement from the onset. In youth with SUD, family involvement increases compliance with treatment and leads to higher rates of sustained abstinence (Bergmann et ah, 1995). It is important to review with the patient and family that medication is one aspect of the treatment plan and is more likely to be effective when used in conjunction with other treatments. In addition, the clinician should also review how the medication will work, the possible side effects, and the time frame in which benefit may be expected. An informed and involved family is more likely to encourage compliance from an adolescent than one that has never met their child s treatment team. An adult caretaker and not the patient should store, administer, and monitor all prescription medications to maximize compliance and minimize the potential for abuse.

What are some of the legal issues inherent in this case How can the collaborative team deal with them There are two key legal issues in this case—child protection and confidentiality. The therapist, Dr. E, addressed the first key issue by immediately reporting the situation to CPS. He set the tone for this referral by talking to the sisters about the need for outside support and help since Sara was a single mother with no health insurance. He framed the call to CPS as a call for help and resources and told CPS about this framing. 

Locked into this simplistic frame of mind, parents can unwittingly harm their only child for whom, despite denial to the contrary ("I don t care what you think "), parental faith and approval remains vitally important. At this time of separating from childhood and beginning to socially separate from them, the child needs support, not censure. 

The challenge of parenting during early adolescence is to keep a positive perspective. To maintain this frame of mind requires understanding that any child is always more than the sum of his or her problems, which only constitute a very small part of a very large person. 

In their case, the time frame is prolonged by 2 years, but no longer than for the duration of self-employment (Art. 9a AVIG/LACI). An extension of the time frame from 2 to 4 years is also granted to parents who must care for a child under age ten at the time of their registration with unemployment insurance. This term is prolonged by an additional 2 years for every new-born child (Art. 9b AVIG/LACI). 

The child is placed in the protector through the apron that is rolled up in the front. This apron is unrolled, the top flap is lifted, and the child is placed in it with its food, toys, etc. The two ends of the flap are brought together and then evenly rolled and secured with snaps onto the frame. The shoulder strap is provided for carrying the protector. 

Four shells were found inside the FUDS boundary and excavated during the 1993-94 time frame. They were described as being conventionally fused, not rigged for static detonation. They were found in a linear progression, suggesting that they were ballistically fired. Also, the District of Columbia found part of a nose fuse, which would not have been used for statically fired shells. A resident also told the District that he found a live fuse in Dalecarlia as a child and that his father called the police, who confirmed that it was live and took it away. 

The system is ideal for examining the rearrangement of microstractural composition of soft-solid materials with variation in temperature. An example of a material that is practically impossible to image in the natural state by conventional optical microscopy is shown in (Fig. 26.58a). The volumes depicted are child volumes, containing a region of interest (ROl), extracted fipom the reconstruction of a frozen four-phase soft-solid structure. The reconstructed volume is derived from 720 filtered and back-project frames using the Feldkamp cone-beam algorithm, with a resolution of 512 X 512 pixels per frame.
