ISO, IUPAC and AOAC INTERNATIONAL have co-operated to produce agreed protocols on the Design, Conduct and Interpretation of Collaborative Studies 14 and on the Proficiency Testing of [Chemical] Analytical Laboratories .11 The Working Group that produced these protocols has prepared a further protocol on the internal quality control of data produced in analytical laboratories. The document was finalised in 1994 and published in 1995 as the Harmonised Guidelines For Internal Quality Control In Analytical Chemistry Laboratories .12 The use of the procedures outlined in the Protocol should aid compliance with the accreditation requirements specified above. [Pg.85]

David Morgan is a member of the Chemical Ecology Group at Keele University. He was bom in Newfoundland and had his university education there, at Dalhousie University and University of King s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and at Oxford. His doctorate thesis was on the lipids of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. He later worked at the National Institute for Medical Research in London, and for Shell Chemical Company and Shell Research under the direction of Sir Robert Robinson, O.M., Nobel Laureate. From 1966 he has been at Keele in Staffordshire as lecturer, senior lecturer, reader, and professor. He discovered the natural pesticide azadirachtin and collaborated with S. V. Ley for its final structure elucidation. He is the author of over 300 papers and reviews, mostly on insect chemistry, editor, and contributor to several volumes and author of the book Biosynthesis in Insects. ... [Pg.501]

The Czech Aerosol Society (CSA) was formed in 1999 from the former Working Group on Aerosol Research of the Czech Society of Chemical Engineering at the occasion of the European Aerosol Conference held in Prague in 1999. As given in its constimtion the Society maintains a forum of researchers from various Czech instimtions and universities in order to promote collaboration in all areas of aerosol research, to promote by means of meetings and publications the spread of information between the members and the public, to support education in aerosol related fields at all levels, and to support international co-operation. [Pg.308]

The rapid progress in the understanding of the active site of aconitase in the 1980 s has primarily originated from the work of H. Beinert and his collaborators. A number of important workers who, up to that time, had been working in relative isolation, now became more involved in CALPHAD conferences and publications. The Canadian group, led by Pelton, had evolved is own representation of thermodynamic quantities in a specific set of non-metallic systems (Pelton and Flengas 1969, Pelton and Schmalzried 1973, Bale and Pelton 1974) but found that many of the concepts being outlined for alloys could also be applied in their area. This was to eventually lead to a Facility for Analysis of Chemical Thermodynamics (F A C T) (Bale and Pelton 1979) and the foundation of the Centre of Research for Thermodynamic Calculations at Montreal. In due course there would be further collaboration (Thompson et al. 1983) between F A C T and the SOLGASMIX programme of Eriksson (1975). [Pg.32]

The resultant master ORF clones should be checked by several different criteria DNA sequence, protein productivity, and the structure of produced proteins see Note 5). Once these master ORF clones whose quality has been well-checked become available to the research community, a wealth of time, labor, and cost will surely be saved and provide a solid basis for reverse chemical genomic approaches.
