Archiving program

Use an archiving program such as Winzip or WinRAR to archive all the files for a project into a single file, and then e-mail the archive. Do not email the individual files.

Mass storage device. Typically, fixed-head hard disk drives are used to store ac tive data, including on-line and historical databases and non-memory-resident programs. Memory-resident programs are stored to allow loading at system startups. The tape drives are used for archives and backups. 

The DS team uncovered four additional sets of documentation systems when they conducted their detailed search of programs and elements. Each documentation system had its own set of standards for recording information, distribution, review and approval and for archiving. Furthermore, the incompatibilities of the various electronic systems were exacerbated by the lack of a corporate hierarchy on preferred computer platforms. 

This new line forms the title section for the job, which provides a description of the calculation for the job output and archive entry. It is not otherwise used by the program. 

As already stated above, the database has been developed using ISIS software. The program operation is very simple, and about 30 min to learn the particular commands of this structure-searching program. ISIS provides both storage and retrieval of chemical structures. It is also possible to store text and numeric data into database entries. Because molecular structures are searchable in many ways, ISIS software is an excellent tool for exploiting data, and not simply archiving it. 

The 138 submitted papers were selected in the following marmer. From a total of 521 submitted two-page abstracts, 156 were identified by peer review and evaluation of the Program Committee to be expanded into 10-page (maximum) camera-ready manuscripts. Submitted manuscripts were then peer-reviewed by at least two experts in the field according to standards comparable to those used for archival journals. Diversity in country origin was also considered, and an attempt was made to minimize multiple publications for individual research groups. Consequently, the 138 papers included herein should be considered as peer-reviewed publications that represent the worldwide state-of-the-art in catalysis research. 

If the test facility claims to be GLP-compliant but is located in a country where there is no authorised body responsible for GLP monitoring, i.e., a national GLP compliance program, the Study Director needs to be assured that the facility (including the archive, if used) does operate in compliance with GLP principles. This can be achieved by conducting a pre-study QA test site inspection or by a review of documentary evidence, e.g., notice of adverse findings and subsequent responses, or Establishment Inspection reports. The Study Director should ideally discuss the above with QA personnel and send copies of any documentary evidence used to the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) for inclusion in the QA multi-site study file. 

FieldNotes user verification can be conducted by following the SOP written by Astrix, which can be downloaded from the Astrix Web site. The SOP contains a script that is typed into the computer system. If the printout matches the SOP script, then verification is complete. A record of this must be placed in the facility archive. This verification process takes 1 h or less. For FieldNotes, calculations are not verified at the field site since the manufacturer feels that the software developer and the sponsors have performed adequate validation of these calculations previously. This may, therefore, require a visit to the sponsor or to the manufacturer to confirm that this important step of the validation process has been completed and is adequately documented. By following the Astrix SOP, the user is simply ensuring that the program operates on their system(s). The SOP script must be typed in exactly as written in order to confirm the printout accuracy. QA must ensure that the verification documentation is properly archived. Just as with any other SOP, this SOP must be approved in writing by field site management to comply with GLP. 

A well-developed records management program that defines rules by which records and documents are handled from creation to retirement is necessary for a successful electronic data archiving process. In a GLP-compliant system, records are classified by type, such as study-specific raw data, reports, personnel records, etc. Each record type has a defined retention time.

Our specimen database also contains additional parameters that are used to control the data collection process and to provide archival information to each data file written by the collection process. The console display for editing the specimen database is of the "fill in the form" type and the user revises the parameters for each specimen position (including the zeroth) as required. New parameter values are checked for validity at the time they are entered. All other parameters retain the values they possessed during the previous set of analyses. Thus, only minor changes are needed to program for a set of samples similar to the previous ones. All records in the database can be cleared if the analytical conditions are markedly different.
