Adverse findings

If the test facility claims to be GLP-compliant but is located in a country where there is no authorised body responsible for GLP monitoring, i.e., a national GLP compliance program, the Study Director needs to be assured that the facility (including the archive, if used) does operate in compliance with GLP principles. This can be achieved by conducting a pre-study QA test site inspection or by a review of documentary evidence, e.g., notice of adverse findings and subsequent responses, or Establishment Inspection reports. The Study Director should ideally discuss the above with QA personnel and send copies of any documentary evidence used to the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) for inclusion in the QA multi-site study file. [Pg.194]

Numerous physiological and environmental factors such as age, stress, nutritional deficiency, and infections may affect the immune system (Sullivan, 1989). Thus, adverse findings in animal studies may reflect these indirect immunotoxic effects rather than the direct immunotoxic potential of a chemical or drug. Indirect immunotoxic effects may be assessed through histopathologic evaluations of endocrine organs such as the adrenals and pituitary. [Pg.564]

A complex series of in vitro tests, animal test and then human exposure can at any stage reveal adverse findings that can be termed toxicity. Broadly, toxicity findings can be broken down into the following three sub-divisions. [Pg.99]

Rats exposed to 1300 ppm 5 hours/day for 5 days showed nose and eye irritation but no adverse findings in blood and urine tests. Exposure of rats to 3 00 ppm 6 hours/day for 20 days resulted in no clinical signs, but histopathologic findings showed slight renal congestion. [Pg.441]

Of the 931 inspections classified, information letters were sent 395 times, notices of adverse findings letters were sent 106 times, and letters stating study rejection were sent 49 times. [Pg.221]

There is a failure to report adverse findings or test data without adequate justification If applications are withheld because of significant cGMP noncompliance, and the GMP deficiencies also apply to commercially marketed products, then action must be taken to ensure that the deficiencies are corrected... [Pg.33]

Aquacoat ECD (ethylcellulose polymer, acetyl alcohol, and sodium lauryl sulfate in water) Coating for tablets and capsules Repeat-dose toxicity with routine end points (90 days—oral rat) and reproduction toxicity (embryo-fetal study in rat) No adverse findings for general toxicity or reprotoxicity 29, 30... [Pg.22]

In the late 1990s, the major reasons that companies were still failing FDA PAIs were CGMP deviations, disparities from commitments made in the application, discrepancies in records, failure to report adverse findings, and suspicion of fraud. [Pg.468]

DNase A rodent bioassay was conducted in rats based on the intended patient population (in large part children) as well as the relevancy and feasibility of the rodent to assess toxicity. No adverse findings were observed. [Pg.462]

Overall, studies of topical cyclosporine have demonstrated that the drug is safe and well tolerated. The most common adverse finding is burning and stinging upon instillation, occurring in approximately 17% of patients. [Pg.242]

Another reality that anti-doping scientists must face is that some athletes accused of using banned anabolic steroids offer explanations such as the inadvertent consumption of various alleged sources of the substances. To assess the theory that uncastrated boar meat consumption can result in an adverse finding in a doping control urine test, Le Bizec et al. (2000) tested volunteers and detected 19-norandrosterone and 19-noretiocholanolone for about 24 h after intake. The same team identified and quantitated the boar meat 19-norsteroids responsible for this finding (De Wasch et al., 2001). [Pg.19]

Adverse findings still could not be avoided and had to be downplayed. Buried 57 pages into the report text is the information that Diagnoses of low-grade lead arsenate intoxication were made on seven workers the summary at the front of the document distorts this into... [Pg.50]
