Accuracy evaluation

The foregoing close agreement of the geometric mean diameter and geometric standard deviation results indicates that accuracy evaluations were made on an absolute scale, and did not refer to some arbitrary scale... [Pg.510]

Note that instruments 1-4 were photometric devices with less then 0.01 absorbance accuracy evaluated against reference neutral filters at 546 nm and A = 1.000, traceable to INM. The bandwidth provided by the interference filters equipping the absorption photometers was within the range of 4-10 nm. Instrument 5 was a 10 nm bandwidth photometric device with less than 1.0% absorbance linearity, evaluated at 405 nm and 500 nm, against liquid absorbance RMs type 16.02 and 16.03 [5], Enzymatic colorimetric methods for determination of glucose and urea were used. The o-cresoftalein colorimetric method was used for calcium determination. [Pg.187]

In aerosol samples 12 elements (K, Ca, Ti, V, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Br, Rb, Sr and Pb) have been determined in concentration range 10-700 ng/m (Bandhu et al., 1996). In fly ash where the concentrations are higher the elements Al, Si, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Rb, Sr, Y, Pb and Th are determined with precision below 10% in an concentration interval 15 mg/kg (Th) - 13% (Si). The accuracy evaluated by analysis of NIST-SRM 1633a is very good for all elements but As (Van Dyck et al., 1986). The good analytical parameters have been achieved after introduction of a secondary fluorescence correction for medium thickness samples. The same approach has lead to the successful determination of 20 elements in soils (IAEA Soil 5) with excellent accuracy and precision, and of 12 elements in plant matrices (NIST-SRM 1571). [Pg.151]

Run Acceptance Criteria. Run acceptance criteria are used to accept or reject a run because of its performance. As a consequence, no dehned run acceptance criteria are applicable during method development. Prestudy validation runs are accepted based on the standard curve acceptance criteria. No run can be rejected because of poor performance of a sample during precision and accuracy evaluation all data from prestudy validation runs are reported unless there has been a clearly recognizable error during sample preparation or measurement. Despite the fact that the standard curve must satisfy the criteria described for standard curves above, in-study runs are accepted based primarily on the performance of the QC samples. As stated above in the paragraph on precision and accuracy, the 4-6-30 rule is recommended (i.e., at least four of six QC samples must be within 30% of their theoretical values and at least 50% of the values for each level must satisfy the 30% limit. [Pg.622]

The proposed system has three functions (1) accuracy evaluation, (2) accuracy data accumulation, and (3) search and reuse of accuracy data. The objective of the study shown in this section is to build a method for identifying knowledge, knowhow and techniques in the field based on the data managed by the developed system and evaluated by the three dimensional measured data in the ship construction process. The overview of the whole system is shown in Fig. 23.10. All types of data are stored in the database and, as well, the metadata is assigned to the data. Any data stored in the system can be reachable efficiently thanks to the metadata. [Pg.689]

In an accuracy evaluation system, the accuracy of assemblies is calculated by comparing measurement data obtained by a laser scanner to design data. The methodologies for an accuracy evaluation are different according to assembles, and some existing method can be applied for the evaluation. [Pg.689]

Doppler reactivity is the other important parameter in FBR cores because it assures the intrinsic safety characteristics of the core. The present cross-section adjustment method cannot treat the Doppler reactivity which is dominated by resonance-peak broadening of cross-sections. We have launched a new study to extend the applicability of the cross-section adjustment and design accuracy evaluation system to the Doppler effect. The basic method to evaluate sensitivity of self-shielding factors has been successfully derived from a generalized perturbation theory, and a prototype system to calculate the Doppler sensitivity is now under verification. [Pg.154]

Many types of program evaluation exist. For example, Rossi, Freeman, and Lipsey (1999) distinguish between the following types of program evaluations needs assessment, process evaluation, impact evaluation, cost-benefit or cost-effectiveness analysis, and targeting accuracy evaluation. We focus on the three most common types of evaluations of safety net programs process (or implementation) evaluation, assessment of targeting accuracy, and impact evaluation. Evaluations of cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness are also helpful, but are rare so not treated in depth here (see box 6.4). [Pg.213]

No standard materials with known low concentration of alkoxy were available to Hanson and Smith for careful accuracy evaluations. Typical results obtained with fluid and resin samples are given in Table 93. Relative standard deviation was generally below 20% in routine testing. Detection of = SiOR at 0.001% may be readily accomplished. [Pg.267]

For an accuracy evaluation of the proposed algorithm, a BCI experiment was performed for 10 subjects. The 10 subjects in the second set of experiments were selected from the first experiments. They understood the experimental methods and process as they had obtained some measure of BCI experience. The mental task was motor imagery for the left or right arm. The experimental protocol consisted of a... [Pg.488]
