Access, safety and

Accessibility, safety and security associated with the holding vessels by the vehicles of the licensed contractors. [Pg.20]

In 1997, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed new regulations for how pharmaceutical manufacturers would access safety and efficacy of certain new drugs that could have pediatric indications. Thereafter, the FDA and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) held a conference with academicians, pharmaceutical industry representatives, and U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) representatives to discuss these proposed FDA regulations. [Pg.656]

Phosphoms is stored and handled under a protective layer of water. Production quantities are transferred as a Hquid by either water displacement or pumps, with water recycle to maintain the water balance and cover. In earlier times, phosphoms was sometimes stored in underground tanks or pits, but as of the 1990s storage is limited to tanks located inside diked areas that are accessible on the outside for safety and leakage control. [Pg.352]

The Failure and Inventory Reporting System (FIRS) program was developed by the Geological Survey Division of the U.S. Department of the Interior for safety and pollution prevention devices on offshore structures that produce or process hydrocarbons. The program collected data on mechanical and some electromechanical systems on offshore oil platforms. About 8,000 failure events were documented. Access has been limited to internal materials management system use. No real-time access or periodic output products have been available. [Pg.72]

Whether floor space is a major factor in the design of a particular plant depends on the value of land near the proposed site. The engineer should, however, allot floor space economically, consistent with good housekeeping in the plant and should be sure to consider line flow of materials, access to equipment, space to permit working on parts of equipment that need frequent servicing, and the safety and comfort of the operators. [Pg.171]

In the industrial world of manufacturing plants, power stations and the like, more than 80% of painting is concerned with the maintenance of existing structures and plant. Although airless spraying can be more than 20 times faster than brush application and conventional spray some four times as fast, there are many occasions where access difficulties and safety considerations prevent their use. Rollers and brushes therefore continue to be widely used. [Pg.329]

The time required to fully establish the safety and efficacy of a new drug in the eyes of the regulatory authority might not always be to the benefit of the proposed patient group. This is particularly so in the case of drugs intended to treat serious or life-threatening diseases where no effective therapy currently exists. Various provisions have been incorporated into the regulations to allow accelerated access to such therapies. [Pg.151]

OSHA. 1982. Access to employee exposure and medical records proposed modification request for comments and notice of public hearing. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Federal Register 47 30420. [Pg.309]

The purpose of registration is to assess drugs for efficacy, safety and quality and to ensure that they are of an acceptable standard for use. When similar products are processed, the rates of registration approval and rejection reflect the ability of the registration system to prevent questionable products from gaining market access (3). [Pg.82]

In many fields the worst result is a waste of resources on repetitive work but when safety is concerned the lack of access to available knowledge can have tragic results. Those of us who have been working in the safety field for many years have seen the same accidents repeat themselves with distressing regularity. We welcome, therefore, every attempt to bring together scattered information on any aspect of safety and make it readily accessible. [Pg.2107]

In addition to these selection criteria, the limitations of the author s contacts and the willingness of companies to participate, narrowed the search for a suitable case down to a small Dutch company (< 30 people). This company produces in batches, falls under the Dutch Seveso-II directive (BRZO, 1999) and authorized access to the relevant data. The selected company had experienced some serious accidents recently, in spite of using many technical safety systems. Thus the management was aware of the necessity to enhance both safety and the reliability of the operational process. [Pg.80]

Improvement Item Reverse 911 was not activated in a timely manner due to access available only by Emergency Management personnel. This weakness has been corrected so that Reverse 911 can now be activated through direction from Dispatch supervisor or authorization of Incident Commander. Capability will also be established at North Augusta Public Safety and Aiken Public Safety dispatch centers. The database used to initiate calls was five years old. This was identified post incident, and updated information is now available... [Pg.14]

Isolation valves may be located near the property line, the edge of a process unit, or the liquid outlet of a vessel. Valves should be installed on all hazardous materials lines entering or leaving the facility to ensure the facility can be isolated in the event of a spill or fire. Similarly, valves should be located at or near the battery-limit of each unit or outside dike walls for the same reasons and for safety and ease of access. [Pg.123]
